L
ess than two weeks after being officially released, ‘Party Tun Up’ has made its way on to the reggae/dub charts on Beatport, one of the largest online music stores. The single produced by Switzerland’s Johnny Roxx of Bikini Ape records debuted at number 32 on the Beatport radar just days after it was made available to buy online and has since made its way to number 10 on the chart. Both artistes are no strangers when it comes to this chart as Serani’s ‘No Games’ was a top seller back in 2009 and this marks Melloquence second time gracing this chart as his 2013 dubstep release ‘Rolling Up’ peaked at number 6.

This collaboration is Melloquence’s second  effort with an international Billboard dancehall heavy weight as he recently collaborated with Elephant Man on the single ‘Hold Me’ featured as the lead single on VP Records & Weedy g Soundforce’s upcoming Rise album.

The young singjay is very much pleased with the attention his music is currently getting and feels motivated to do even greater things musically.

“The Beatports charts are based solely off music sales so for my music to reach there more than once just confirms to me that people actually like what I’m doing and I have genuine fans who purchase my songs. even in this age when music sales  worldwide is said to be at a low. This just motivates me to continue working on my craft so I can a better artiste.” Melloquence explained.

He wants his fans to listen out for his upcoming releases: ‘Target’ produced by UIM Records and ’Feel The Vibe’ on Frastwinz Music’s ‘Better Daze’ Rhythm.

014 looks very promising so far for rising dancehall star Melloquence who has been steadily paving his way in the industry with releases on some of dancehall’s more  popular rhythms  since last year, namely: JA Production’s “OverDrive Rhythm” and the Frastwinz Music  produced “Starizma Rhythm”. January saw the singjay  releasing a medley music video for his songs “Hot Suh/Starizma (Star life)” on the above mentioned projects and already he’s set to release yet another music video, this time for a collaboration effort with international dancehall super star Elephant Man entitled Hold Me’.
Elephant Man & Melloquence

‘Hold Me’, although not officially released as yet, has been enjoying  rotation on most of  the island’s major  radio stations including Zip 103 FM, Irie FM and Suncity FM etc. over the past few weeks and with the music video slated to be released this weekend  both artistes are confident this will propel the single to higher heights.

“From the get go wi know people would gravitate to this song especially the females that’s why we never even hesitate to shoot the video, ‘Hold Me’ is one of those songs that a DJ can play in a dance and get the females to ‘bruk out’ and at the same time it’s radio friendly and commercial enough to be played at a family event and buss the place, it’s just a ‘feel good’ song and right now the music needs that” Melloquence explained.

Elephant Man on the other hand thinks it’s refreshing  and credits this release as a strategic one, “Right now the girls dem need some songs like these, is a breath of fresh air, furthermore a carnival season now the girls dem want dance” He concurred.

The video was shot by Inna Wi Genes Filmz at the Board Walk Beach in Portmore and edited by Cashflow’s Extreme Arts and features cameos from some of dancehall’s top female dancers and video vixens including DHQ Nickiesha and Queen Latesha to name a few .

The single is produced by the European-based ‘Weedy G SoundForce’ label and will be distributed by VP Records.

Melloquence remakes ‘Stars ‘R Us’ for Jamaica’s Olympic Team.

Writer : Caribbean E-Magazine on Wednesday, August 8, 2012 | 10:27 PM

Wednesday, August 8, 2012

Just days after premiering a music video for his popular song ‘Stars R Us’ on the Happy Daze Rhythm, the singjay opted to head back in studio and do a complete remake of the song in honor of Jamaica’s Olympic Team. Melloquence says he felt the need to do something for the team since the team has done so much for the people of Jamaica thus far. “It’s only right that we do something in support of our athletes, after all, they have made us (Jamaicans) home and abroad so proud, I can’t tell when was the last time mi hear everybody a anticipate an event like how mi see them a look to the Olympics, Team Jamaica alone can do that, big up Bolt, Shelly and the whole team, stars are us” Melloquence confidently said.

The tribute was released on the internet Saturday evening shortly after Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce and Veronica Campbell Brown’s triumph in the women’s 100m, and it instantly got the attention of radio disk jocks, leading to it being be premiered on Zip 103 Fm just hours after release by resident disk jock, ZJ Dymond.

According to the radio presenter who has been rotating the original song for the past month or so, one can obviously hear the pride and patriotism in the remake. ‘It’s a song any dj or selector would feel proud playing and mi know the athletes ago love it too, in other words it fully charge.’ Dymond expressed.

Melloquence’s publicist confirmed that the song is just a gesture of appreciation from the artiste, and therefore will not be available for purchase. Instead, the public can download it free from Melloquence’s Facebook fan page, (Facebook.com/MelloquenceFans) or email Mediaworthy.pr@gmail.com for a copy.
