 has been a sort of coming out for Multi talented songstress Kim Kelly. The singer has made a splash with several hit singles such as "Fall In Love", "Plans Fi Yuh" on the Top Class Riddim by UIM Records which delivered a hit video, her video also MTV.com amongst some of the biggest name in music, a feature in the national lifestyle magazine "Triple The Focus" and several successful performances amongst some of the biggest names in dancehall and reggae music..          

"At the rate my career is going as long as myself and management continue down this road I think we will be reaping everything we sowing. I've gained the respect from multiply known artists and producers in the industry which is always a plus." declared the songbird.

Kim Kelly has put ink to paper and her voice to music on several upcoming releases such as "Girls night out" by Misik-muzik, "Wine on Me" a Godson Production, "Walk Away" by Kheilstone Music, "In My Bed" an Asha D Production) and "Forever Starts Today" by Alphaphi Music.

Aidonia and Deablo to Headline ‘Dancehall Xplotion’ in Costa Rica

ollowing last week’s cancellation of his European concert in Amsterdam, Netherlands due to unethical conduct by the organizers, Jag One Productions (J.O.P) front man Aidonia is again in high spirits afoot his headlining gig in Central America this weekend.

 The deejay and label-mate Deablo are set to headline the much anticipated ‘Dancehall Xplotion’ in Costa Rica on Saturday, September 14th. The heavily publicized event is expected to garner a major outflux of fans, providing the continent is one of the Aidonia’s fastest growing fan base in recent years. The billing also features fellow compatriots Popcaan and Tommy Lee Sparta.

According to the ‘Coco Powda’ singer, he is really looking forward to performing for the Central American fans and plans to deliver nothing but a top notch set when he take center-stage this weekend.

“Central America is one of my biggest fanbase they always show a lot love and support for my music so whenever the opportunity presents itself for me to perform there they can expect nothing but the absolute best from me and team JOP”. – Aidonia added.

Meanwhile, on the local scene Aidonia continues to saturate the FM airwaves with the newly released ‘Coco Powda’ and ‘ Love Off Yuh Gal’ the latter featured on the ZJ Liquid produced ‘Good Book’ rhythm. Plans are also in motion for a pair of videos to be shot and released in the weeks ahead.

Jamaican Singing Sensation Toian, “Rude Boys” Debuted on MTV Jams

rom a little town on a small island, “Rude Boys”, the brand new music video performed by Jamaican singer & songwriter, Toian, made its debut on international television station MTV Jams on August 10, 2014.

The video was filmed in various locations around Montego Bay, Jamaica and features a cast of bikers, police cars, school girls, bandannas, white sand beaches, coconut trees and of course “Rude Boys”.

“We wanted to capture an authentic perspective of everyday life in Jamaica,” said director & producer Sean Alaric of Class One Music. “That’s what brought the concept to life.”

Inspired by her favorite reggae tracks from the 80's era, Toian recorded the song at the Class One Music Studios in Florida, with backing live instruments adding to the sound of her signature flavor. Having previously collaborated with the likes of multi-platinum selling producer Don Corleon as well as popular reggae & dancehall acts such as Protoje, Konshens & Chevaughn, the multi-talented songstress is now gearing up to share her debut EP album, “Retrospect”, with the world in late 2014.

Gyptian Feels No Pain In "Dagger Through My Heart"

inger Gyptian has teamed with Donsome Records LLC/Shadyhill Music for the single Dagger Through My Heart.  The song was produced by Adrian ‘Donsome’ Hanson and Peter ‘Shady’ Harrison.

In a release, Hanson explained that even though the song was recorded a few years ago, the track is now being mixed and mastered for release. It will be released on August 12.

‘Dagger Through My Heart was recorded years ago when Shady and I first began to produce songs with Gyptian. We have done about seven tracks with him’, said Hanson.

He added ‘Working with Gyptian has always been fun for us. We always bring out a side of Gyptian in our productions that no other producer has been able to’, Hanson noted.

Dagger Through My Heart tells the story about a man who is continuously hurt by his woman and he still loves her no matter the amount of hurt he continues to experience.

Donsome Records and Shadyhill Music have combined on several projects over the years. Both entities are working on the production of reggae artiste Rage’s upcoming EP.  Donsome Records will be releasing the long awaited compilation Ghetto Corner Stone Vol. 1

A number of new singles are to be released and they include songs from Khago, Rage and Beenie Man featuring Harry Toddler.

‘I’m also in the studio writing and producing songs for a number of artistes, so we have a lot of work to be released’, said Hanson.

Teflon Goes EDM With New Album

lectronic Dance Music, also known as EDM, is becoming increasingly popular among partygoers globally and has even found its way onto the shores of Jamaica. Despite Reggae and Dancehall being the dominant music of choice on the island; local socialites have embraced the electronic genre, especially at popular night spots and via programming offered by a number of radio jocks on various stations.

With this ongoing trend Reggae singer Teflon who is slated to release his sophomore album shortly refuses to be left out of the movement. The Rastafarian crooner who made a name for himself singing conscious ballads says he is all about taking his music to that next level.

“EDM is the new movement globally that is what the people are into, so if I can combine Reggae with Electronic Dance Music and get the message out why not do it. I am about spreading positive messages of righteousness and if this is a channel to assist in the process, then I will explore that possibility.”

Teflon says his album titled ‘Next Dimension’ will not be the typical Reggae compilation that everyone’s expecting, but will comprise of EDM among other genres, all aimed at showcasing his growth and other dimensions as an artiste. He also echoed similar sentiments in a recent interview with Israeli publication Kaboom1.

“The musical environment in Jamaica is extremely competitive, where the strong survive and the weak fades. As an artiste I cannot be complacent if I want to remain relevant and conquer this business. So the onus is on every artiste to make a concerted effort to put in that extra effort where needed.”

The benevolent crooner explains that music has no boundaries and should not be confined in a box, he says evolution is necessary if we intend to make positive strides, but remained steadfast that despite the fusion he will stay true to his principle of only making ‘good music’ regardless of the injection of new genres.

Currently, promoting the singles ‘I’m Sure’ and the collaborative effort ‘Same Struggle’ featuring Capleton, The ‘Yard A Love’ recording artiste and his management are working assiduously to raise his profile ahead of the album release. The album will be distributed by U.S based company New Millionaire Entertainment (NME). The deal sees them being the exclusive agent handling both digital and physical distribution for Teflon along with his marketing throughout the world for downloadable, mobile and video contents. The dissemination will be done in conjunction with Universal Records.

Mavado, Kerwin Du Bois and Internet Sensation Trabass to Headline BRT Weekend

RT weekend is now officially “Turnt Up”;  the release of the first day host line up has something for everyone; A notable Reggae Artist, a Soca Favorite and a Comedian. The early party for Friday, November 7th will be the first time the hottest Yacht party in Jamaica comes stateside as Beach Bumz has joined BRT. In this incarnation of the event, it will be a beach and poolside event. Later that evening is a star-studded line-up headlined by We The Best Music Group/ Cash Money Records Recording Artist Mavado.

In addition to the Gully God, BRT has added a Soca flavor with the addition of one of Trinidad’s most sought after artists Kerwin Du Bois; rounding out the hosting duties the very hilarious Trabass boasting over 230,000 internet subscribers to his channel on YouTube. TCI’s Top Model, Brielle Swann Graces the Cover of Times of the Islands Summer 2014 Issue

imes of the Islands summer 2014 issue is set to hit newsstands and better retailers today! On the cover and in an eight-page editorial spread is TCI’s newest Top Model, Brielle Swann. 

Having been named the FACE of the Turks and Caicos on Friday, May 2nd by industry experts at the Williams Auditorium in Providenciales, the Grand Turks native took the plunge in her first of many editorial photoshoots to come. The shoot, which took place at the award-winning Point Grace Resort - was the most picturesque location with its turn-of-the-century British Colonial architecture, lush tropical foliage, fantastic vistas and lavish furnishings; made the perfect backdrop for the safari themed spread.

The 2014 TCI Top Model, donned in outfits by Courtney Robinson Couture, Rosetta Talbot,L’été Boutique, shoes courtesy of Shoe Gallery along garments sourced by the TCI Top Model organizers - provided the 5’9” Cockburn Town ethereal beauty with a fabulous array of stylish ensembles.

Published photographer Renau Destine of Double R Media, who was assisted by Galacty Vancela -photographed Brielle in and around the property, and on the Point’s white sandy beaches.  On hand during the shoot was Courtney Robinson, Director of Production for the TCI Top Model Contest, who was also the shoot’s Fashion Editor. The creative team also consisted of Kerietta Simpson, TCI Top Model Contest’s Head of Fashion and Grooming Fashion, who was the shoot’s hairstylist and makeup artist, transforming the Top Model from an ingénue to a glamour on editorial queen, and Claire Parrish, Advertising Manager for Times Publishing.

Rising Dancehall Artist Daine Making the Ladies "Twerk"

orn in Kingston, Jamaica, Gregg Legister was exposed at an early age to an eclectic roster of music as his mother was an avid music listener of  Tracy Chapman, Crystal Gayle and Michael Bolton amongst many others.

But it is upon his entrance to high school that he became a fan and found inspiration in the iconic Bounty Killer,  Grammy award winner Beenie Man, Capleton, Notorious B.I.G and Tupac. In their words, he found his voice and soon after started his musical voyage by playing music with Black Magic sound system.

Playing music only puts a small dent in his musical thirst, so the young artist adopted the moniker of Daine Blaze and began to explore his creative outlet by writing and producing songs for himself and his friends. His first professional endeavor was a riddim compilation which featured international star Gyptian, Munga, Fambo and various local artists.

And the rest, as the saying goes, is history..

Since then, Daine has been busy in the studio producing music for artists. Daine Blaze has worked with such producers such as Fuzion Records, Asha D Records, Jsmall records, J-Rod Records and Grab Dem records. He is presently enjoying local and international airplay with his single "Go Harder"  which was made into a video receiving rotation on most major video programs and for the ladies his sizzling summer single "Twerk"!

Demarco Invades The French Caribbean & Soars With ‘Good Book’

resh from his musical exploits at May Fest 2014, Grand Cayman and the holy land of Israel, where he delivered a pair of concerts in Tel Aviv and Jerusalem, red hot deejay Demarco has once again taken flight this time for the French Caribbean nation of Martinique to headline their annual carnival celebrations this weekend.

No stranger to the French speaking island perched in the Lesser Antilles the blonde-hair singer says he is not intimated by the language barrier as he has grown accustomed to performing for diverse audiences across the globe.

“I’m not intimidated in the least by the language barrier, actually I embrace it , I’ve found in my travels that people who speak a different tongue are sometimes some of the most loyal and passionate fans an artiste can have. They always support your concerts and know the words to your song(s) though they may not necessarily understand the meaning. Music has no boundaries so why should I limit myself.” – Demarco added.

 

Following his stint in Martinique the ‘Fren Circle’ singer and his team will shift focus to a second assignment in Antigua before returning to the island later this week to continue work on his online reality series ‘Talk Yuh Mind’.

Riding high locally with hits such as Apartment,Loyal, Ride, Lazy Body and Continue Whine Demarco only days ago rolled out the official campaign for his latest street banger ‘Good Book’ which has become a staple on  the playlist of most top tier jocks.

The Zj Liquid (H2o Records) produced single has been causing quite a stir on the airwaves and party circuit amid threatening the apex of the popular charts. Based on feedback from industry players the song is destined to become the next bonafide hit for the Jamaican. An official video was also released to rave reviews via his Youtube channel (youtube.com/demarcolife).

Barbados Band Surprises Fans with Cobra Starship Frontman, Gabe Saporta

ans of Barbadian alternative hip hop band NexCyx got the surprise of their lives in the early hours of June 1 when Cobra Starship frontman, Gabe Saporta joined the group onstage during their summer kickoff concert.

Saporta, who married designer Erin Fetherston in Barbados last year, thrilled the shocked audience with his chart topping hits Good Girl Go Bad and You Make Me Feel.

The celebrity couple, in Barbados celebrating their first wedding anniversary, met the band there on the night of their engagement and invited them to play at their Martha Stewart featured nuptials last May. They were so impressed by NexCyx’s performance, Saporta decided to return the favour for the band’s biggest show to date.

“Gabe and Erin are very special to us,” said Kris Clarke, bassist and NexCyx band leader. “We were very happy that Gabe was able to share the stage with us for NeXperience, especially around their anniversary.”

Hundreds of patrons inside the converted warehouse on the grounds of cricket stadium Kensington Oval partied with the band for over two hours, enjoying a set of original favourites like Eternal Summer and In Da Club, and featured performances by some of the island’s best talent including Livvi Franc, Teff Mayweather, Simon Pipe, Arturo Tappin and Rochelle Griffith.

Saporta told the audience he loves Barbados and was amazed by the amount of talent he had seen on stage that night. His high-energy, fifteen minute performance was punctuated with screams of delight, especially during an impromptu push up competition with keyboardist André Clarke.
