The tribute was released on the internet Saturday evening shortly after Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce and Veronica Campbell Brown’s triumph in the women’s 100m, and it instantly got the attention of radio disk jocks, leading to it being be premiered on Zip 103 Fm just hours after release by resident disk jock, ZJ Dymond.
According to the radio presenter who has been rotating the original song for the past month or so, one can obviously hear the pride and patriotism in the remake. ‘It’s a song any dj or selector would feel proud playing and mi know the athletes ago love it too, in other words it fully charge.’ Dymond expressed.
Melloquence’s publicist confirmed that the song is just a gesture of appreciation from the artiste, and therefore will not be available for purchase.
