'Trillo' to Make Debut Performance at STING 2011

Writer : Caribbean E-Magazine on Tuesday, December 6, 2011 | 12:44 PM

Tuesday, December 6, 2011

The annual STING Jamaica event held at Jam World complex Portmore in the parish of St. Catherine is known across the island and the Reggae music industry worldwide as the premiere, highly anticipated  stage show to be held in Kingston at Christmas time and incorporates everything that a hardcore Reggae/Dancehall fan could wish for;  An incredible line-up, electic atmosphere, amazing performances and a few on-stage clashes.  One night can make or break an artiste career!  the show is that important.

Important it is also for upcoming and/or artistes on the verge to perform on this major event. When Jamerican artiste, Vanya 'Trillo' GoPaul was asked to make a debut performance on the 2011 staging of STING by head of the Supreme Promotions team Mr. Isiah Laing, his career automatically excelled in the local industry. Trillo had only released his first official single during summer of 2011 in Jamaica; a collaboration with the IRAWMA 2011 Female DJ/Rapper of the year Macka Diamond entitled, 'It's Summertime.' The song quickly spread to the crevices and corners of Reggae music Capital, Kingston as was intended by management.

An awesome way to set off one's music career, Trillo made good of the exposure  not only in Jamaica where he got the opportunity to sit in on several radio, television and cable interviews but also in Florida, New Jersey and New York of the United States.  It's Summertime featuring Macka Diamond set the trend but it was the 'High Grade Alone' single produced by his management company, Higher Levelz Production that created the wave of opportunities for him.

Trillo first performed, High Grade Alone before it was officially released at another major event in Jamaica in August.  It was the annual A St. Mary Mi Come From show hosted by International Reggae/Dancehall artiste Capleton.  He gave an outstanding first time performance to an over 10,000 strong audience and was well received.

STING audience is expected to be much bigger and usually attract more international attention than most events held in Jamaica so it is highly likely that Trillo will be bringing his 'A game.'  When asked how he felt about performing on the show he said, " There is absolutely no denying the power of the Jamaican people and their appreciation for your music.  Once they give you the thumbs up, you know almost immediately that international recognition in the music is yours for the taking."

So this Christmas, will be.  A very Merry Christmas for Trillo cause unlike other trips he has had at this time.  None, has ever come this close to his life long dream.

Trillo Break Free in Awesome Interview on RHTV1 Miami

Writer : Caribbean E-Magazine on Monday, October 31, 2011 | 9:19 AM

Monday, October 31, 2011

In an awesome live television interview on Friday October 27, 2011, promising Reggae solo artist Trillo, boldly demonstrated his signature Barb Wire dance on RHTV1 in Miami.  Obvious to his management team were signs of growth and maturity in him as an artiste, from the way in which he held his composure throughout the entire interview and handled the questions directed to him by host David Mention.  "It became quite evident from that interview that he (Trillo,) has grasp much of the grooming he has gotten from Mr. Mack" said a proud (Mommy-ger) Mother and Manager, Paulette GoPaul a name given to her by an even prouder son, Trillo,   Further response to questions on his upbringing and versatility, Trillo, explained that he was brought up as a well rounded child which attributed to his ability to do a little bit of everything and went on to show his talent during the live performance segment of the interview, singing his now popular High Grade Alone single. In delivering the song, Trillo, sang accapella and created back up sound effects with his own human beat box.

What made his interview intense and even more interesting was his response to questions  regarding how he felt about popular Jamaican Dancehall Icon Vybz Kartel; accused of murder and/or conspiracy to murder and imprisoned in Jamaica.   Trillo, made it absolutely clear that he is not judgemental and refused to be but instead, "liked his (Vybz Kartel's) songs and the way he sings."

He went on to pay patronage to his management team and people who assisted him to this point in his career in response to another question that was asked of him relating to his getting some meaningful exposure and handling the attention that comes with it at this time.  Trillo, obviously humbled by the question stated that, "he will never forget where he is coming from" then thanked his 'mommy-ger'(mother and manager) who he felt has put together an efficient team of people to work for him highlighting team players, Noel McKinson of PowerMack Promotion, Sophia McKay of New Image Promotion, Stampede Lammie of Stampede Street Entertainment, Ms. Claudette Kempt, Manager for International Reggae/Dancehall artiste Capleton and the David House Family, the IRAWMA International Female DJ/Rapper 2011 Macka Diamond (whom he has a single with), Imperial Bash the Producer of his It's Summertime single, Mr. Dean Fraser reknown Saxaphonist in Jamaica and the Reggae industry worldwide and DJ MC Shawn who officially introduced him to the New York/New Jersey audience, for their individual attention and effort.

The interview lasted for about an hour and a half and ended on a positive note when Trillo, who was asked if he had anything he would like to share with other upcoming artistes said,  "keep focused, believe in what you do, understand and learn all you can about Entertainment Laws and your rights as artistes."  To watch interview please click here

Trillo’s Debut Entry on a Jamaican Chart!

Writer : Caribbean E-Magazine on Wednesday, October 5, 2011 | 12:11 PM

Wednesday, October 5, 2011

The overall feedback on Trillo's High Grade Alone single has been tremendous.  Higher Levelz Production the company to which he is signed has plan to release a video for the single while Trillo put the finishing touches on yet another song soon to be released.  But while those plans are being put in place, High Grade Alone stepped things up a notch this week hitting the Stampede Street Chart at #15 as Trillo was named the "Artiste Of The Week" on the Chart.

'Airplay for High Grade Alone in Jamaica continues and gets better each day" said Noel 'Powermak' McKinson, Street Promoter of the song.  Trillo bursts on the local music scene around summer with a single featuring International Dancehall artiste Macka Diamond, entitled It’s Summertime.  A video was shot and released for that song and Trillo was in Jamaica to promote it as well as make an appearance on the annual ‘A Saint Mary Mi Come From’ show.  However but both song and video came out later than management had anticipated so a decisive position was taken to drop High Grade Alone with an understanding that "It’s SummerTime" will be around next summer, "we may do a remix, who knows" said Paulette GoPaul, Manager and C.E.O. of Higher Levelz Production.  High Grade Alone was released on the day Trillo returned to Florida and has since been doing well.  Both singles are available on iTunes, Spotify, Napster, Amazon and all etailers worldwide.  When asked how he felt about the song being on the Stampede Street Chart Trillo said, “It’s a start, a very promising one.”  If you have not heard Trillo's High Grade Alone single please click on the following link http://soundcloud.com/newimage-music/high-grade-by-trillo

Trillo new single "High Grade"

Writer : Caribbean E-Magazine on Friday, August 26, 2011 | 9:17 AM

Friday, August 26, 2011

It has been one whole month of constant promotion across Kingston for single, "SummerTime" feat Macka Diamond.  “it’s worth it” says Trillo, “I got so much done compared to other trips, I’m really pleased and encouraged.” After giving a fairly good performance at A St. Mary Mi Come From, Trillo engaged in a number of interviews on local cable channels and radio stations including Nationwide 90FM, Newstalk 93FM, Linkz FM, Hype TV “Up & Live,” RETV and Pree Dis TV.  Radio airplay has also been good on Irie FM, ZIP 103FM, Hitz 92 FM and Hot 102FM.  But as he head on home to Florida, 24 year old Jamaican singer/songwriter, Trillo, thought it necessary to dropped a second single, High Grade.

High Grade is a production of Higher Levelz, the label that is currently managing Trillo. High Grade emits a completely different vibe than that of previous single, Summertime.  On this track, Trillo got down-to-earth laying down his lyrics in a trendy Roots/Reggae tone.  Trillo’s clarity is on point as he show off his clear crisp vocals to compliments the rhythm.

High Grade is the roots of the Reggae/Rastafarian culture, it is certainly not a new topic and neither is a topic that one can get enough of.  For Trillo, ‘it’s nothing personal, I’m just bringing to the fore whatever it is I really want to sing about” and on this particular song its, “High Grade.”

Introducing, ‘Trillo’ Upcoming Artiste/Entertainer

Writer : Caribbean E-Magazine on Friday, July 29, 2011 | 4:35 PM

Friday, July 29, 2011

Vanya Gopaul a.k.a TRILLO formerly TRILO-G was born in Kingston, Jamaica and attended Stella Maris Preparatory, got involved in athletics, excelled in track and field, went on to represent Kingston College in major championships including the Miami classics. He was also involved in theater and dance but surprisingly to family and friends, Trillo was passionate about music.  An ardent fan of Micheal Jackson when he was a child he entered a few singing and dancing competitions where he won first place at one of the events. He also performed for Stella Maris on Jamaica Broadcasting Corporation (JBC) before it became Television Jamaica (TVJ) along with fellow classmates.

TRILLO and family migrated to the United States when he was 13 years old. Though he was placed in an accelerated program called the International Baclarette(IB) with strict policies to maintain a high grade, he was still passionate about music. He would rhyme and beat bop with his friends attracting huge crowds at school but had to complete his studies at College because his mother was firm on education regardless of his interest in music. Trillo always believed he would have his way and never gave up on his dream; even when it seemed like it would never happened the very thought ultimately motivated him to hone his skills.

In 2005 his dream was realized as he was able to release two singles “Take A Ride” and “Who I Be.” It was the genesis of a music career that he waited almost forever he thought, “to take off.”   Five years now into his career,  he has full support of his Mother, Paulette GoPaul now the team is working on the release of a debut album soon to be released. He writes his own songs and has spent a lot of time promoting his music throughout Miami, Davie, Ginger Bay, Pembroke Pines and number of towns in Florida. Trillo’s unique style is a fusion of reggae, dancehall, hip hop and pop music.  His vocals are powerful and distinctive and he uses it to entice his audience wherever he performs.  Trillo recently recorded a single with popular Dancehall artiste Macka Diamond entitled, “Summertime.”  A video for the single was shot on locations in Miami, can now be seen on several local cable channels and main stream television entertainment programs.  He is also schedule to perform on ‘A St. Mary Mi Come From’ on August 5thand will be arriving in Jamaica as of Monday August 1st
