Miss Kingston and St Andrew, Anjell Bryan Wins Miss Jamaica Festival Queen Competition

A
new queen was crowned on this year’s staging of the Miss Jamaica Festival Queen Competition, Miss Kingston and St Andrew, Anjell Bryan capped the title.
The Jamaica Cultural Development Commission (JCDC) Festival Queen 2014 was at the Ranny Williams Entertainment Centre in St Andrew on Saturday, where 25-year-old Bryan also won awards for Most Culturally Aware and Most Active in the Community
Miss St Ann, Sharlene Codner, who was first runner-up and second runner-up, went to Miss Trelawny, Honica Brown, who also won Most Poised. Rounding off the top were Miss St James, Trudy-Ann Hylton, who was also awarded Most Congenial, and Petrina Williams, Miss Clarendon, Petrina Williams
Best Performer of the night went went to Miss Portland, Tahera Brown for her Jamaica Song.
Bryan received a $500,000 cash prize, along with other gift items and packages.
Singer Romain Virgo gave a spectacular performance with his hit songs.

Miss St Ann’s Kemesha Kelly wins Miss Jamaica Festival Queen 2012

Twelve contestants vied for the crown for the Miss Jamaica Festival Queen competition, held last night at the National Indoor Sports Centre in Kingston, where Miss St Ann’s Kemesha Kelly was crown the winner.

The 22 year old graduate of the University of the West Indies works has a Youth Empowerment Officer.

Kemesha also won Most Active in Community and Most Culturally Aware and for the winning prize she was awarded a 2007 Nissan March and several other prizes. 

First Runner up went to Rasheen Roper, Miss Kingston and St Andrew while second runner up was Sasheena Douglas of St Mary, who also won Best Performance
Miss Congenial went Miss Clarendon Shashine DaCosta along with Best gown. The other sectional winner was Miss Manchester Victoria Cole for Most poised.
