Lexi Wilson is the New Miss Universe Bahamas 2013

Under the theme "The Golden Era: Celebrating 5 decades of Bahamian Beauty," a new Miss Universe Bahamas was crowned, 22 year old Lexi Wilson.

On Sunday night at the Atlantis Resort in Nassau, eight contestants vied for a chance on representing her country at the 2013 Miss Universe Pageant in Russia on November 10th, 2013

First runner-up went to Chantal O'Brien and the second runner-up was Tavette Darville, who also won the Miss Congeniality and Miss Popularity Awards. Shanae Strachan finished in fourth place while capping the Miss Photogenic and Best Costume Awards.

Lexi in the future hopes to become a successful dentist, specializing in Prosthodontics.

Two Queens Crowned at the Miss Bahamas Competition

It was a double crowing moment in at the Atlantis Resort when 19 year Celeste Marshall walked away as Miss Universe Bahamas and 23 year old De’Andra Bannister won the Miss World Bahamas title.


Fourteen girls vied for both tile to represent her country and these prestigious event. Analicia Thompson was first runner-up in the Miss World Bahamas while Autumn Joy Dames was the first runners up in the Miss Universe Bahamas.


Beauty with a Purpose fast track award went to Kahtura Fernander for her work with empowering young women and the People’s Choice winner was Reneika Knowles. Other sectional  awards presented during the evening were Miss Photogenic Rakia Rolle; Miss Congeniality Adria Flowers; and MBO Spirit award winner Rochelle Alexandre.

2nd Ebony Johson – Miss The C.U.R.E.
3rd Irina Key – Miss Bahamas Construction International Ltd.

2nd Celeste Marshall – Miss D. S. Lifestyles
3rd Autumn Joy Dames

Miss Popularity – Irina Key
Best Hair – Kahtura Fernander, Miss Javotte’s House of Couture
Sophisticated Cover girl (most swimsuit poster sales) – Kahtura Fernander
Lady of Elegance – Jasmine Forbes. Miss Island Luck
Best skin – Deandra Harris, Miss Coco Plum Bahamas Resort


Celeste  will represent Bahamas at the Miss Universe  Pageant which is scheduled for December, while  De’Andra will compete in at  Miss World 2013 Pageant.

Daronique Young will represent Bahamas at Miss World in China

Daronique Young will represent Bahamas at this year's  Miss World competition to be held on August 18th, 2012 in Dongsheng Fitness Center Stadium, Ordos, Inner Mongolia, China.

Daronique who was the first runner up to Sasha Joyce in last year’s Miss Bahamas competition was chosen to represent the nation at this year’s Miss World pageant, as there were no official competition this year.

Several factors led to this development, including changes in the dates of Miss World and the pending general elections. MBO sought and was granted permission by the Miss World office to send the runner-up from last year's pageant to this year's finale.

Miss Bahamas World Organization is confident that Daronique will represent the country well. “She’s the complete package – beauty, brains, body, and one of the sweetest personalities you would ever want to meet.”

An elated Daronique  after hearing the news  said, “I’m beyond excited!. My dream has always been to enter Miss World, and I had planned to enter the Miss Bahamas pageant again to pursue that dream. I’m blessed that the dream has come to me instead, and I look forward to representing my country to the best of my ability.”



The 21 year old is also a former  Miss Theodore Elyett's - Miss Teen Bahamas World, which she won in 2008. 

Daronique will embark on her quest  for the coveted title on July 17th.
