Kaci Fennell Wins Miss Universe Jamaica 2014

n Saturday night at the Karl Hendrickson Auditorium, Jamaica College in St Andrew 21-year-old Mico University College student Kaci Fennell won the title of Miss Universe Jamaica 2014

She beats 18 other ladies to win the coveted title of representing Jamaica at the Miss Universe pageant in Brazil this December.

Roshelle McKinley was first runners up while Kimar Muir was second runners up with Saneta Kerr and Dianne Brown, respectively taking fourth and fifth places.

Rounding off the top 10 were: Shanice Rerrie, Christine Suraj, Davia Lynch, Diedre McKenzie, and Zandrea Bailey

The sectional prize winners were: Most Photogenic, Shantana Folkes; Most Congeniality and Best Runway awarded to Saneta Kerr;  Essence Style Award, Kimar Muir; Best Swimwear, Dianne Brown;  Best Evening Gown and Most Aware, Kaci Fennell and Alturism Charity Award to  Princess Fraser.

Special awards were presented to Maybelline representative Marlene Gray, businessman Desmond Panton and Triple Century Sports Bar owner Chris Gayle

Entertainment for the evening came from a live performance by Gem Myers and music played by Uzuri International. The MCs for the nights' event were Terri-Karelle Reid and Adrian Brown.

Miss Universe Swimwear & Evening Gown Preliminary Competition - Caribbean Contestants

The Preliminary Competition of the Miss Universe was on November 5, at 8 pm, Moscow time at Crocus City Hall. The event was hosted by reigning Miss Universe Olivia Culpo.

 

 

Contestants competed in swimsuit by 2014 YAMAMAY swimwear collection featuring footwear by Chinese Laundry and Evening Gowns.
 

The coronation of Miss Universe 2013 will take place on Saturday November 9th at the same venue at 9 PM ET on NBC

Miss Universe- Official Lingerie Photo Shoot - Caribbean Contestants

The Miss Universe Organisation has released the official photos of a swimwear shoot of Miss Universe 2013 contestants.

The contestants took part in the photo shoot for Italian lingerie brand, Yamamay, at the Crowne Plaza Moscow World Trade Centre hotel on 22 October.

New York-based Fashion Photographer Fadil Berisha took the shots of all 86 contestants in bikini.

The 62nd Miss Universe pageant is being held at Crocus City Hall in Moscow, Russia, on November 9^th. Contestants will be competing in three categories: swimsuit, evening gown and interview, as they vie for the title.  The will be crown by the reigning Miss Universe,Olivia Culpo.

Lexi Wilson is the New Miss Universe Bahamas 2013

Under the theme "The Golden Era: Celebrating 5 decades of Bahamian Beauty," a new Miss Universe Bahamas was crowned, 22 year old Lexi Wilson.

On Sunday night at the Atlantis Resort in Nassau, eight contestants vied for a chance on representing her country at the 2013 Miss Universe Pageant in Russia on November 10th, 2013

First runner-up went to Chantal O'Brien and the second runner-up was Tavette Darville, who also won the Miss Congeniality and Miss Popularity Awards. Shanae Strachan finished in fourth place while capping the Miss Photogenic and Best Costume Awards.

Lexi in the future hopes to become a successful dentist, specializing in Prosthodontics.

Miss Universe Jamaica 2013 Set for September 8th in Ocho Rios

Uzuri International, the new franchise holder of the Miss Universe Jamaica  has announced that this year’s competition will be held on September 8th at Jewels Resort in Ocho Rios.

 

 

 

 

The completion was originally schedule to take place in July at Emancipation Park in St Andrew., but was cancelled last minute by previous franchise holder DimitrisKosvogiannis, who relinquished the franchise because of lack of sponsorship and other professional obligations

The new franchise holder Uzuri International who in the past years has been a major sponsor will stage a "boutique contest”, where 10 contestants will vie for the title to represent Jamaica at his year’s competition at the Crocus City Hall in Moscow on November 9th.

The reigning queen is Chantal Zaky.

Miss USA, Olivia Culpo wins Miss Universe 2012 - Miss Mexico and Miss Universe British Virgin Islands placed top 10 in National Costume Show

Last night Miss USA, Olivia Culpo was crowned Miss Universe 2012 live from Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino in Las Vegas. The 20 year old from Cranston, Rhode Island won from a field of 89.

First runners-up went to Miss Universe Philippines, Janine Tugonon who will assume the duties of Miss Universe 2012 if the titleholder for some reason cannot fulfill her responsibilities.

Miss Universe Venezuela, Irene Sofiá Esser Quintero, was second runner-up with Miss Universe Australia, Renae Ayris and Miss Universe Brazil, Gabriela Markus, rounding off the top 5.

 

The top were:

Miss Russia, Elizabeth Golonova; Miss Universe France, Marie Payet; Miss Universe Hungary, Agnes Konkoly; Miss Universe South Africa, Melinda Bam; and Miss Universe Mexico, Karina Gonzalez.

Top Sixteen:
Miss Universe Turkey, Cagil Ozge Özkul; Miss Universe Peru, Nicole Faveron; Miss Universe Poland, Marcelina Zawadzka; Miss Universe Croatia, Elizabeta Burg; Miss Universe Kosovo, Diana Avdiu; and Miss Universe India, Shilpa Singh.

 

Miss Photogenic Universe Award was awarded to Miss Universe Kosovo, Diana Avdiu. An expert panel chose the delegate they thought best exemplifies beauty through the lens of a camera. She was awarded a $1,000 cash prize and a gift from pageant sponsor Diamond Nexus Labs.

 

Miss Congeniality Universe Award went to Miss Universe Guatemala, Laura Godoy Calle. This award reflects the respect and admiration of the delegate’s peers who voted for her as the most congenial, charismatic and inspirational participant. She was awarded a $1,000 cash prize and a gift from Diamond Nexus Labs.

Miss Universe Mexico, Karina Gonzalez was the only contestant from Caribbean of which there were thirteen contestants to make it to the top. She was also placed second in the National Costume competition. Abigail Hyndman, Miss Universe British Virgin Islands was also placed seventh (7th) in this category, which was won by Miss Universe China 2012 , Ji Dan Xu

Abigail Hyndman's dress was made of seashells giving the effect of an aquatic look from head to toe, using coral, sand dollars and faux lobster.
