Kaci Fennell Wins Miss Universe Jamaica 2014

n Saturday night at the Karl Hendrickson Auditorium, Jamaica College in St Andrew 21-year-old Mico University College student Kaci Fennell won the title of Miss Universe Jamaica 2014

She beats 18 other ladies to win the coveted title of representing Jamaica at the Miss Universe pageant in Brazil this December.

Roshelle McKinley was first runners up while Kimar Muir was second runners up with Saneta Kerr and Dianne Brown, respectively taking fourth and fifth places.

Rounding off the top 10 were: Shanice Rerrie, Christine Suraj, Davia Lynch, Diedre McKenzie, and Zandrea Bailey

The sectional prize winners were: Most Photogenic, Shantana Folkes; Most Congeniality and Best Runway awarded to Saneta Kerr;  Essence Style Award, Kimar Muir; Best Swimwear, Dianne Brown;  Best Evening Gown and Most Aware, Kaci Fennell and Alturism Charity Award to  Princess Fraser.

Special awards were presented to Maybelline representative Marlene Gray, businessman Desmond Panton and Triple Century Sports Bar owner Chris Gayle

Entertainment for the evening came from a live performance by Gem Myers and music played by Uzuri International. The MCs for the nights' event were Terri-Karelle Reid and Adrian Brown.

Miss Clarendon, Kimberly McLeod Wins Miss Jamaica Nation 2014

iss Clarendon, Kimberly McLeod, who took the title at the inaugural staging of the Miss Jamaica Nation beauty pageant on Saturday night that, was held at the Courtleigh Auditorium in Kingston.

Thirteen young ladies representing each Parish vied for the title. Miss St James, Latoya Thompson took the first runner-up spot, while Miss Hanover Geri Graham was named second runner-up.


Miss St Elizabeth Katherine Foster took the most congenial sectional award; most aware went to Thompson from St James; Miss St Thomas Yohanna Kellyman, was awarded most photogenic; while the award for the best evening gown design went to Miss Hanover Geri Graham. The dress was designed by Hope Wade.

The Miss Jamaica Nation's objective is to promote natural beauty by avoiding the use of any artificial enhancements such as hair extensions, tattoos, alterations to the physique whether by surgery or clothing, fake eyelashes, and coloured contact lenses. The competition was organized by pageant director and general manager for HOT 102, Ken Williams.

Miss Jamzone International 2014 is Miss Guyana Sonyini Fraser

iss Guyana Sonyini Fraser was crowned Miss Jamzone International 2014 at the National Cultural Centre in Guyana  on Friday evening.

 
 
First runner up went  to Miss Barbados, Dannyelle Leslie and Miss Bahamas Lexi Wilson were named the second runner-ups. While Miss Trinidad and Tobago Yaya Henry and Miss Jamaica placed fourth and fifth respectively.

Fraser also won the award  for Best National Costume and Best Fantasy Swimwear. Yeah Henry, Trinidad and Tobago took home the prizes for Best Smile and Best General Swimwear.

The People’s Choice Award and Best Gown went to Miss St Vincent and the Grenadines Aphesha Matthews.

This is the first title for the host country and along with the crown Fraser walked away with US$10,000.

Hedonism II to Host The "Miss Bum Delicious Pageant" From August 31 - September 7

H
edonism II the “haven of pleasure” will be hosting the most risqué and provocative events on the year “Miss Bum-Delicious Pageant” from August 31 to September 7 of this year.

The Miss Bum-Delicious Pageant is open to women of all ethnicities to compete for the title of having the ripest, juiciest, most beautiful bum in the world.

The pageant is split into a few different segments: the Poolside Bikini Challenge, the Talent Segment, the Evening Gown Parade, the Bare as You Dare Knockout Round, and the Final Sexy Question & Answer.

Twelve finalists will be selected prior to the event, and ladies will be required to spend a week at the resort for the duration of the pageant. This is where they will meet and greet guests and participate in photo shoots and rehearsals for their final night. Miss Bum-Delicious2014 will receive a cash prize of US$1000 as well as a return vacation for a week. The first runner-up will receive US$750, plus a 5-night vacation for 2 and the second runner-up will win US$500, along with a 3-night stay for 2 at Hedonism II.

The Miss Jaycees Caribbean Queen 2014 Pageant To Be Held In Antigua On August 1st

his year 13 young delegates from across the Caribbean will vie for the title of Miss Jaycees Caribbean Queen 2014, on Friday, August 1st, in Antigua

The event which will held under the  theme “Nuit de Dames” or Ladies’Night, Antigua & Barbuda, will see representatives from Anguilla, British Virgin Islands, Dominica, the Dominican Republic, Guyana, Haiti, Montserrat, St Kitts & Nevis, St, Lucia, St Vincent & the Grenadines, Trinidad & Tobago and USA, all  converging  at the ARG, Carnival city for a night of pageantry and glamour.
 
Jaycees committee member, Michael Joseph, says this year’s show aims to empower women. “We’re trying to empower women while at the same time letting them know it’s ok to have fun; good clean fun. Hence, the theme.”

This will be the 53rd staging of the competition. The reigning Jaycees Queen is Lelessa Shillingford of Dominica.

“The Glam Six” Vying for Queen of Carnival title.

ix delegates dubbed “The Glam Six” will this year vie for the Queen of Carnival title.

“The Glam Six” includes Tamorla Millette is sponsored by Hakim’s; Heidigail Francis by LAVA International; Kizzy Thomas by Special Security Services Ltd; Jamilha Roberts by Flow; Leanda Ann Norville by CHAPA Bau Housing; and Russhell Ellis is sponsored by PaintPlus.

The six young women will compete in five segments, on July 28, namely interview, swimwear, performing talent, evening wear and costume, as they vie for the title of Ms Queen of Carnival 2014.

The show will see performances from The Elite Dancers, Sunnydale Dancers, Ricardo Drue and Claudette “CP” Peters.

This year’s theme is “Be Bold: Be Different: Be Extraordinary – Bringing the Glamour”.

Miss Jamaica World 2014 Is Laurie-Ann Chin

n Saturday (July12th), 22 year old Laurie-Ann Chin was crowned Miss Jamaica World 2014 at the Montego Bay Convention Centre in St James.

Laurie-Ann who will be representing her country at the Miss World pageant in London on December 14, emerged the winner from a field of 19 beauties.  She also took the “Best Figure” award and walked away with over $15 million (JAM) in cash and prizes.

First runner-up was Shellianne Young, while second runner-up went to Kimberly Webb was also awarded “Most Aware’ and “Best Smile”.

The other sectional prizes went to: Brittany Pink for “Best Legs; Most Sociable, Kim Moya Dawkins; Beauty in Business, Shanta Spencer: Most Congenial, Kadian Collins; The Gleaner's People's Choice Award winner was Shanna Kay Ellis.
Entertainment for the evening included performances from In-Motion Dance Company, and singers Benji Myers and Faraji.

Shadeisha George Crowned MISS SVG 2014.

hadeisha George was recently crowned MISS SVG 2014. She will represent her country at the Miss Carival pageant on July 4th.

She beat out 7 other contestants for the title of MISS SVG 2014. First runner-up was Miss Mustique Co. Ltd. Karla Gellizeau who also won Best Swimwear.  While second runner-up went Miss Agricultural Input Warehouse Shackell Bobb  capped the awards for Best Interview and Miss Photogenic

Twenty-one-year-old Shadeisha also was awarded Best Talent  and Best Evening Wear. Her outfit was designed by her chaperon, renowned Vincentian designer, Kimon Bapitse.

Other sectional award winners were:

Miss Congeniality — Miss Super Six Authority Vanika Hope.
Most Community Spirited —Miss Lotto Jamilla Neverson.

Other contestants were: Fellisia Baptiste, Selis Blair, and Tatiana Lespierre.

Shadeisha is currently employed at Bank of St. Vincent and the Grenadines, and hopes to pursue studies in International Relations at the University of the West Indies.

Shanice Williams Is Miss Universe Turks and Caicos 2014

he Miss Universe Turks and Caicos 2014 was recently held and twenty one year old Shanice Williams won the title, at the Brayton Hill in Providenciales.

Shanice who wore the sash Miss Grand Turk won in spectacular style ahead of 1st Runner up Codee Coalbrooke, Miss South Caicos and 2nd Runner up Todeline Defralien, Miss Middle Caicos.

She also won Miss Intellect, Best in Swimsuit, Best Evening Gown, Miss Congeniality and Miss Photogenic.

Other contestants of the ‘Sassy Six’ were Gabreann Capron, Miss Salt Cay; Tashy Forbes, Miss North Caicos; and Shante Williams, Miss Providenciales

Shanice is the newest Digicel TCI Brand Ambassador and will represent her island country in Miss Universe 2014 pageant whose date and venue have not been confirmed.

Miss Guyana Alicia Bess Was Crowned Miss PJD2 Carnival Queen in St Maarten

he Miss PJD2 Caribbean Queen Pageant was held on Sunday, April 27, the St. Maarten Carnival Village, where 18 contestants from across the Caribbean Region competed for the title. In the end Miss Guyana Alicia N. Bess was crowned the winner.

Miss St. Maarten Davinia Brooks was placed first runner-up, while Miss Antigua Raynelle Carrol followed as the second runner-up.

The other countries represented were Anguilla, Aruba, Curacao, Belize, Dominica, Guyana, Haiti, Jamaica, Nevis, St Lucia, Suriname, Tortola, BVI, Venezuela, Dominican Republic and Puerto Rico and Montserrat.

Contestants competed in Introductory Dance, Swimwear, Cultural Costume, Talent, Evening Wear and Question and Answer segments.

The pageant, which was held under the theme “Confidence Beauty and Respect”, was hosted by PJD2 Radio Station.

s a bevy of beauties prepare to be unveiled and compete for the most coveted and esteemed title of the Turks and Caicos Islands, the Miss Turks and Caicos Universe Beauty Organization (MTCUBO) could not be more enthusiastic about the ongoing transformation and re-branding of the Miss Universe Turks and Caicos Beauty Pageant events and is thankful to the people of the Turks and Caicos Islands, their partners and supporters.

“We are extremely proud of the manner in which Miss Universe Turks and Caicos 2013, Snwazna Adams represented us in Moscow, Russia, at the 2013 Miss Universe Pageant. Even though she did not bring home the crown, she represented our islands with grace and awarded us with a very strong comeback to the international competition. MTCUBO boast of an amazing board and I applaud each and every board member for their skills and dedication that go into producing our events, carrying out or mandate and achieving our goal in celebrating our Queens and empowering our women of these islands” said President Kazz Forbes.

President Forbes added, “2014 is fast approaching and plans are already underway for the 2014 Miss Turks and Caicos Beauty Pageant National Events; a series of events that will continue to rival the success of regional and international franchises that compete within the Miss Universe Organization whilst promoting and displaying the rich culture, history and beauty of our ‘beautiful by nature’ islands.”

Under the direction of Saint George Fashion House (SGFH) in partnership with the Turks and Caicos Tourist Board; MTCUBO aim is to advance and support today's beautiful by nature ladies while promoting passion for pageantry with a purpose. By creating an environment that is conducive for learning through training, exploring, researching and discovering myriad experiences contestants are challenged to bring out their personal best.

The exhilarating journey to coronation is designed to encourage the pursuit of purpose, promote discipline, and support the strengthening of character. Each experience, be it a physical task, an intellectual assignment or social engagement seeks to cultivate the passions, self-image, and education that will prepare contestants to compete on an international stage and provide quality representation to the Turks and Caicos Islands.

Commencing March 26th – 29th, MTCUBO will see the addition of Turks and Caicos Islands Fashion Week; a stage for cultural expression, TCIFW celebrates the work of fashion artists, craftspeople and other creators with an effervescence all its own. All contestants are required to walk the runways of TCIFW’s Grand Runway Fashion Show “the grand finale” on March 29th at Brayton Hall, Providenciales.

Miss Turks and Caicos Beauty Pageant National Events of 2014 will take place April 24th – 26th with a grand contestants and partners motorcade on the Thursday, the 24th; and an exciting two nights of competitions on Friday, the 25th and Saturday, the 26th at Brayton Hall, Providenciales. A schedule of events leading up to the coronation of Miss Universe Turks and Caicos 2014 will soon be announced.

To date, the Miss Turks and Caicos 2014 Pageant partners are the Turks and Caicos Tourist Board, Saint George Fashion House, Beaches Resort Villages and Spa., Digicel TCI, Power 92.5FM, Kiss 102.5FM and Everything TCI.
