Winners from the 2014 Youth View Awards

The seventh staging of the Youth View Awards (YVA's), was held at the National Indoor Centre in Kingston on Saturday night (Feb 1).

Many stars were in attendance and the winners came as no surprise to many. Vybz Kartel though behind bars for more than a year won the Male Artist of The Year award for the second straight year, while Tifa won Female Artist of the Year, who also walked away with Female Fashion Icon of the Year and Young, Hot and Hype Awards.

Konshens was the male winner for Fashion Icon of the Year; he also won the Music Collaboration Award of the Year for the summer hit, Celebration (alongside Ding Dong, Christopher Martin and I-Octane).

Other  big  winners  of the  night were:

Bambino - DJ of the Year
Intense - Best show for the sixth time in seven years.
Chronixx - Cultural Artist of the Year and Celebrity Role Model of the Year
Samantha J - Breakout Celebrity of the Year
Mavado - Local International Artist of the Year.

Mystic Davis- Dancer of the Year

Miss Kitty who was the host retained her Media Personality of the Year honor.

American Pop star Zendaya was the special guest performer of the night . Other performers were Samantha J  who performed her smash hit, Tight Up Skirt and I-Octane and many more..

Disney Zendaya to Perform at the 2014 Youth View Award in Jamaica on February 1st

The seventh annual Youth View Award will once again take place at the National Indoors Sport Centre on Saturday, February 1, 2014. The event will be hosted by Miss Kitty who is also a nominee for “Favourite  Media Personality" of the Year 2013

Disney Zendaya Coleman, who plays Rocky Blue in the Disney Channel Series Shake it Up will be performing along with Samantha J, Bugle, I-Octane, Alaine, Popcaan, Demarcoa and many more…

The list of nominees was announced at Friday's launch held at the Terra Nova All-Suite Hotel in Kingston.

Early Bird Tickets are on sale NOW and can only be retrieved through the An Elegant Affair office (908-3736) or through any YVAs Hype Crew member.

The "Youth View Awards" was spectacular

Host Tami Chynn and Kruddy

The Youth View Awards was held Saturday and was hosted by Tami Chynn and Kruddy at the National Indoor Sports Centre.  The night belong to Tifa where she reigned supreme, having won all five awards in the categories in which she was nominated.  She won for Female Artiste of the Year, Favourite Female Dancehall Artiste and the Young, Hot and Hype Female, Local Female Artiste and Fashion Icon Female

Popcaan, dominated for the male, winning three categories, Favourite Summer Song  for "Raven, Young, Hot and Hype Male of the year and Local chart topping song of the year for the song "Ravin"

Vybz Kartel won for Dancehall Male Artiste and Local Male Artiste.

Performances of the night were , YVA dancers, 'On the verge' winner Tashauna Williams who gave a beautiful rendition of Set Fire to the Rain by Adele.  Other performers were Wayne Marshall, Chris Martin, Tifa and Popcaan, who closed the show with a crowd pleasing performance.

The Youth View Awards an "Elegant Affair" is set for February 4

The Youth View Awards will be held on Saturday February 4 inside the National Indoor Sports Centre, Kingston  and will be hosted by Tami Chynn and DJ Kruddy.

The event dubbed an "Elegant Affair"will commemce at 7:30 Pm

The Youth View Awards, which originally started in 2008 is  aimed at recognizing the work and achievements of celebrities in  entertainment, fashion,and sports. The Youth View Awards is “the" awards show for Jamaica teens and young adult.


There are 26 categories to be voted on, and singer Tifa leads all nominees with 8 nods. Performers  of the night  include Ce’Cile and Wayne Marshall.

An after party will follow the event at 10:30.
