Blak Ryno throws down the Gauntlet to his Nemesis at Sting 2011

Following closely on the heels of stellar performances at St. Lucia’s Lovefest and Boom Christmas concert in Downtown, Kingston; dancehall artiste Blak Ryno on Tuesday morning threw down the gauntlet to his nemesis at the 2011 staging of Sting with a fiery but brief performance.

Decked in a Romiech black and silver ensemble, Ryno hit the stage in the wee hours to Tuesday morning in a no-nonsense mood with his street anthem ‘Shot A Buss’ to much fanfare. This was followed by the statement.

“a bare style dem a gimme enuh and mi come fi talk mi mind___ because dem a ramp wid mi career enuh ___ Portmore, Kingston mi can talk mi mind”

He quickly segued into the street bubbler ‘Gaza Beating Stick’ seemingly aimed at the Gaza prefect. Another statement followed suit, “dem tek mi fi idiot.. but a inna di streets mi grow” as he reeled off some additional lines from the song. This paved the way for ‘Feel A Way’ a collaborative effort with former label-mate Jahvinci who minutes later joined him on stage amping up the already charged crowd.

Moments later the two exited the stage despite attempts by emcee Nuffy and the large gathering for their return. Other highlights of the night included the much publicized clash between Kiprich & Merciless, Hurricane & Specialist, Iyara & Deva Brat, Tony Matterhorn & Twin of Twins; while I-Wayne, Etana and Bounty Killer among others all gave good accounts of themselves.

With Sting behind him Blak Ryno is now back in studio working on several projects for a the New Year.
