Melanie Amaro to perform on The X Factor USA Result Show

Melanie Amaro, season 1 of  The X Factor USA will perform her new single 'Long Distance' from her highly anticipated debut album, 'Truly' on tonight’s result show (Dec6).

 
"On X FACTOR I was all about the ballads, but there's this other side of me that's all about pop, the kind of music you can move and dance and have fun to. At the same time, my biggest influences have always been singers like Whitney Houston and Mariah Carey, and I definitely stayed true to that on the album," says Melanie

Melanie debut album  'Truly' is due out early next year on Epic Records and features a mix of R&B with dance-pop.
 

'Truly' features the crème de la crème of writers and producers, including Rodney "Darkchild" Jerkins (Beyonce, Lady Gaga, Katy Perry), Kuk Harrell (Britney Spears, Usher, Chris Brown), C. "Tricky" Stewart (Rihanna, Christina Aguilera, Mary J. Blige) and Bleu McAuley (Demi Lovato, the Jonas Brothers, Selena Gomez).

Melanie Amaro Releases New Music Video For Her Debut Single, 'Don't Fail Me Now'

Season one winner of the X Factor USA, British Virgin Island (BVI) Melanie Amaro has released her first music video for her debut single, 'Don't Fail Me Now', which premiered on Friday, October 19.


'Don't Fail Me Now' is the first song from Amaro's upcoming debut studio album with Epic Records, which is due to be release in December.

Melanie recently tweeted
"Hey, go watch my new music video "don't fail me now" on YouTube and vevo! Thanks for the love and support."

So far the song is getting mixed reviews from music critics, who praised the vocal performance, but criticized the use of auto-tune.

In an interview on Aceshowbiz,
Melanie stated, "The song definitely describes the journey that I've had through life and throughout X Factor; the determination of my feet that they can't fail me, I gotta get to where I need to be". "My life has changed now because I walk down the street and it's like, 'Oh my God, you're Melanie Amaro'."

So far the song is getting mixed reviews from music critics, who praised the vocal performance, but criticized the use of auto-tune.

X Factor USA star Melanie Amaro inked deal with Epic Records

Melanie Amaro, winner of “The X Factor,” was signed to Epic Records, the label announced today. As part of "The X Factor" grand prize she was awarded a five year $5-million recording with Sony Music .


Melanie will now be managed by LA Reid chairman and CEO of Epic Records. "I am pleased that she is now signed to Epic Records because I believe we have only scratched the surface on uncovering her talent and her inevitable journey to super-stardom.". Reid Revealed.

“We all agreed that Epic would be the right fit for Melanie,” Cowell said in a statement. “L.A. made it clear that he wanted the opportunity to work with her, and with his track record, you can’t say no to that.”

The 19-year-old British Virgin Islands native says that she's ready to get to work on her debut album with the help of Cowell and Reid.

Melanie will also star in a Pepsi commercial to air during next month’s Super Bowl
on February 5, 2012. Pepsi is one of the major sponsors of "The X Factor" U.S.

British Virgin Islands "Melanie Amaro" wins X Factor USA

19 year old Melanie Amaro was last night crowned the first X Factor USA winner, walking away with a $5 million recording contract and a Pepsi commercial lead.

Melanie was born  in Sunrise, Florida but  grew up  to the British Virgin Islands from the  age 3., captivated the heart of millions with her musical notes.

Melanie who was mentored  by Simon Cowell was speechless after learning about her fate, beating out  second place 30-year-old singer Josh Krajcik of Wooster, Ohio, and 28-year-old singer-rapper Chris Rene, who  came in third place.


"Oh my God. Oh my God. Oh my God," Amaro repeated after host Steve Jones announced her as the winner. She  then struggled through tears to reprise Beyonce's "Listen".. Finally after a tearful moment Melanie gave her victory speech 'Thank you so much! OMG, I don't know what even to say... God is good...

The three finalist performed classic Christmas tunes, and Justin Bieber, Stevie Wonder, Leona Lewis, Pitbull, Ne-Yo and 50 Cent performed various songs with former contestants.

Melanie  and Josh also did a duet on David Bowie's "Heroes."

Moments after winning, Melanie told  People Magazine , "Life will change a lot.  The most I have ever had before was $200, if I was lucky."
With her winings she  plans to buy her mom a house as she said  "The one we live in now sucks."
and that for her she will get some chicken  "I can't live without it," she says. "It's my favorite food.

It is a very proud moment for everyone in the Caribbean especially supporters from her second  home  of  British Virgin Islands.
