Jamaican journalist Tino Geddes is dead, after battling cancer for 10 years. He died at his home St Catherine about early this morning.
The 63 year old, who has been a journalist for over 30 years , has done an exceptionally job both locally and internationally. He worked with RJR Communications Group, the former Jamaica Broadcasting Corporation, now (TVJ) and the Daily Gleaner and was known to be knowledgeable in news, current affairs and sports.
Today The Press Association of Jamaica (PAJ) honoured the memory of Mortimer "Tino" Geddes.
Tino Geddes was also Director of Information in the Ministry of Information in the early 1980's.
He is survived by four kids Ryan, Dwight, Wendy and Marlene, three sisters and brother David Geddes, who is also a member of the local journalism profession. The annual Boys Championship trophy is named for Tino's father, Mortimer Geddes.
