Miss World 2013 - Queens of the Caribbean

Caribbean contestants are now gearing up for the upcoming Miss World 2013 Pageant to be held in Jakarta on  September 28th.

The competition which is in its 62 year have seen Jamaica with the most wins of all  the Caribbean Nations - three wins(1963, 1976, 1993), Trinidad & Tobago (1986), Dominican Republic (1982), Bermuda (1979), Puerto Rico (1975) and Grenada (1970) all with one win.

Miss Aruba- Larisa  Leeuwe


22 year old Law student at the University of Aruba who hopes become an attorney in family law

 

   

Miss Bahamas  - De'Andra Bannister


This 24 graduated university with an Associate’s Degree on the dean’s list, in the field of Medical Science. She hopes to use her skills in the future to help the people of Bahamas.

   

Miss Barbados - Regina  Ramjit


19 year old who is  currently at university where she is studying Biochemistry. Her ambition is to complete her studies and train to be a pediatrician in the future.

 

 

Miss Bermuda - Katherine Arnfield


17 year student who hopes to study Law or Business. Her interests include horse riding, swimming and photography.






Miss British Virgin islands – Kirtis Malone

21 year old who is currently studying at university with dreams of becoming a teacher. She enjoys reading, cooking and playing basketball, and her favourite dish is chicken alfredo.

 

 

 

Miss curacao – Xafira Urselita


17 year old Senior High School Student with aspirations of a career in the field of Law as a Notarial Officer

 

 

Miss Dominica – Leslassa Armour-Shillingford


19 Year old dance teacher with aspirations of studying Agricultural Economics at university

  

Miss Dominican Republic – Joely Bernat


24 year old school teacher who enjoys working with children and has aspirations of starting her own foundation to help educate disadvantaged youths

  

Miss Guadeloupe – Sheryna Van Der Koelen


This 20 year old is currently a student of Sports Science, and has aspirations of owning her own fitness centre in the future

Miss Guyana - Ruqayyah  Boyer


23 year old who works as a journalist and television personality. Ruquyyah studied  International Relations & Diplomacy and hopes to pursue a career as an international legal practitioner

 

 

Miss Haiti - Ketsia Lioudy Iciena


19 year old Ketsia is currently a student with hopes of a career in international business relations.

 






Miss Jamaica – Gina Hargitay


18 year old who hopes to study history and politics. Gina enjoys a variety of sports, having swum competitively in her youth and also taking part in the ‘Race For Life’ for the past four years

 

 

Miss Martinique - Julie Lebrasseur


18 year old who currently works as a veterinary assistant. she enjoys Zumba and keeping fit and she says that her special talents include salsa and Bharata Matyam dancing.

  

 

Miss Mexico – Marilyn Chagoya Triana


18 year old  who is currently in her 1st semester of Business School, Marilyn has ambitions of starting her own business in her hometown.

 

Miss Puerto Rico – Nadyalee Torres


25 year old medical student, with plans of following her degree with a masters’ in Dialysis & Family Counseling

 

 

Miss St kitts & Nevis –Trevicia Adams


22 year old affectionately known to most as "Barbie", has eight CXC subjects as well as an Associate Degree in General Studies. She is presently conducting research on several universities for she wishes to soon pursue a Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resource Management.

 

Miss Trinidad & Tobago – Sherrece Villafana


19 year old who is currently earning her  Bachelor's Degree in Graphic Arts. She hopes to one day become a world famous fashion model or actress.

 

Miss US Virgin Islands – Petra Cabrera-Badia


21 year old Currently works in a medical office support role. She has ambitions of studying Business Administration with a view to starting her own business
