Featuring  a dynamic  blend of musical mix and lyrics focused on key social issues in each track, this album will be  available on iTunes and at all major digital/physical retail outlets shortly thereafter.

The foundation for its resounding success has been firmly established  by  the  outstanding producer,  Khabir Bonner of Grillaras Productions who is well-known for his recent projects, Lutan Fyah "Life of a King" and the Beenie Man single featuring Cecile-"Thug Love".

The video for “Thug Love was debuted on BET networks by the "Dancehall King" himself.

Executive producers,  Tariq Kamau "Nashi" Smith & Xavier "Bless X" Prendergast of Kamau Music initiated and played a key role in the development of this album and in  conjunction with Zojak World Wide as co-label/distributor  will continue to be vital throughout  this process.

This unique debut album of the icon, Jah Vinci,  is based on the subculture of inner city life. It focuses on the hardships which “ghetto youths” face such as crime, violence, major deficiencies in the justice system, poverty and the involvement in politics.  Out of those hardships, a star is born to transcend those barriers and rise to tremendous success.

Teflon Goes EDM With New Album

Writer : Caribbean E-Magazine on Wednesday, July 23, 2014 | 9:17 PM

Wednesday, July 23, 2014

E
lectronic Dance Music, also known as EDM, is becoming increasingly popular among partygoers globally and has even found its way onto the shores of Jamaica. Despite Reggae and Dancehall being the dominant music of choice on the island; local socialites have embraced the electronic genre, especially at popular night spots and via programming offered by a number of radio jocks on various stations.

With this ongoing trend Reggae singer Teflon who is slated to release his sophomore album shortly refuses to be left out of the movement. The Rastafarian crooner who made a name for himself singing conscious ballads says he is all about taking his music to that next level.

“EDM is the new movement globally that is what the people are into, so if I can combine Reggae with Electronic Dance Music and get the message out why not do it. I am about spreading positive messages of righteousness and if this is a channel to assist in the process, then I will explore that possibility.”

Teflon says his album titled ‘Next Dimension’ will not be the typical Reggae compilation that everyone’s expecting, but will comprise of EDM among other genres, all aimed at showcasing his growth and other dimensions as an artiste. He also echoed similar sentiments in a recent interview with Israeli publication Kaboom1.

“The musical environment in Jamaica is extremely competitive, where the strong survive and the weak fades. As an artiste I cannot be complacent if I want to remain relevant and conquer this business. So the onus is on every artiste to make a concerted effort to put in that extra effort where needed.”

The benevolent crooner explains that music has no boundaries and should not be confined in a box, he says evolution is necessary if we intend to make positive strides, but remained steadfast that despite the fusion he will stay true to his principle of only making ‘good music’ regardless of the injection of new genres.

Currently, promoting the singles I’m Sure’ and the collaborative effort ‘Same Struggle’ featuring Capleton, The ‘Yard A Love’ recording artiste and his management are working assiduously to raise his profile ahead of the album release. The album will be distributed by U.S based company New Millionaire Entertainment (NME). The deal sees them being the exclusive agent handling both digital and physical distribution for Teflon along with his marketing throughout the world for downloadable, mobile and video contents. The dissemination will be done in conjunction with Universal Records.

Writer : Caribbean E-Magazine on Wednesday, June 11, 2014 | 9:23 PM

Wednesday, June 11, 2014

B
ritish reggae icon Maxi Priest will perform live at CFW 2014, scheduled for June 11-16 in Kingston Jamaica. Maxi joins a long list of international celebrities and superstars who have appeared and performed at the event since its inception in 2001. Other CFW notables include Kelly Rowland, Eve, Nia Long, Brian McKnight, Morgan Heritage, Machel Montana, Joe, Sheila E and Johnny Gill.

Maxi will perform on Sunday, June 15 at the closing night of the shows.  Priest's first major album was the self-titled Maxi Priest (1988), which, along with his cover of Cat Stevens’ Wild World, established him as one of the top British reggae singers. He is one of only two British reggae acts (along with UB40) to have an American Billboard number one Close to You in 1990. A duet with Roberta Flack, Set The Night to Music, reached the American Top Ten in 1991.

CFW returns for its 14th staging this year with a new format, a slew of innovations, chief of which is the new online shopping experience, Shopcaribbeanfashion.com designed to introduce and export the crème of the region’s fashion design talent to an international audience. The CFW team has partnered with Jessica Huie, founder of London agency JH Public Relations (www.jhpr.co.uk) and international branding expert Kubi Springer (www.shebuildsbrands.com) to launch Shopcaribbeanfashion.com, introduce an on-site shopping at CFW, and develop the brand’s business forum, which takes place on the morning of June 14, prior to the evening’s fashion show.

CFW welcomes designers from all over the world. Regions as far a field as Africa and Australia have presented collections on the Caribbean’s premier fashion runway. A plethora of top stylists has also come from Europe and the Americas. The Caribbean’s finest, including Cedella Marley’s Catch a Fire, Meiling and Sandra Kennedy are among the 100 plus designers who have shown collections at CFW since 2001. Special guest designers have included the London-based and internationally regarded Jamaican, Jessica Ogden, British young designer of the year Kelly Jade Nichols, Nana Boateng and the Vogue acclaimed Gavin Douglas.

CFW is the largest, most far reaching and strategically important fashion event in the region. Pulse has developed an event of a high international standard to showcase the best of the Caribbean’s designers, as well as other world regarded stylists from various parts of the globe. Approximately 50 designers from 20 countries participate each year. The CFW Business Forum, Exhibition, superstar concert performances, supermodels, after parties, tours and workshops will all continue in 2014.

Since its inception in 2001, Caribbean Fashionweek has been the main catalyst for Caribbean fashion industry development. An ambitious project, CFW has brought the world of fashion to the region, as it seeks to focus international attention on what the Caribbean has to offer, while at the same time, working with stakeholders to build capacity and generate business for Caribbean stylists. The launch of Shopcaribbeanfashion.com is set to help transform the catwalk creativity into a platform for designers to commercialize their talents and reach international audiences through the E-commerce site.

Caribbean Fashion Week Founder Kingsley Cooper said;

“We are all extremely excited about the evolution of CFW. This year’s event will give designers an opportunity to sell their collections not just to the attendees at the venue, but to a global audience. It is a return to the true essence of what Caribbean Fashionweek is about – empowering designers to create commercial business opportunities from their talent and drive export opportunities.  We are delighted to have Jessica Huie and Kubi Springer invest their talent and dedication to the Shopcaribbeanfashion initiative. CFW 2014 signifies an imperative evolution of the brand.”
