Surinam Reggae Queen, Miriam Simone, is no stranger to the Reggae music industry. Over the years she has released several singles and videos, receiving marginal rotation. However, it’s the recent release of her latest track, Dem A Chat”, which has scored rave reviews with disk jockeys and the media. “Dem A Chat”, has been in rotation on Irie FM, Hits FM (Jamaica) and many other stations throughout international Reggae/ Dancehall formats. Hot on the campaign trail, Simone has completed approximately ten radio interviews over the past month with stations such as Island Vibz Radio (St. Vincent and the Grenadines), Legend 107 Radio (USA), Hott 107.5 (Bermuda) and TDN Radio (Canada).

Simone’s formal induction into the Reggae music fraternity was initiated by the iconic Bobby “Digital B” Dixon, owner of Digital B music label, who also produces her music. For decades Digital B has amassed chart topping hits such as “Head to Toe”, “Wicked Ina Bed”, “Peenie Peenie”,“Cherry O Baby”; working alongside iconic artists such as Shabba Ranks and Garnett Silk. Simone’s latest single “Dem A Chat”, bears the hallmarks of such great production. The feisty single on a hard core one-drop riddim, sends a strong message with the opening lyrics: “Si di hypocrite dem a galang deh. Dem a chat, but still dem no know what a gwan”.

To-date Simone has shared stages with some of the most renowned Reggae artistes, such as Sizzla, Tarrus Riley and I-Octane. At the beginning of 2013 she was featured on the front cover of Back A Yardmagazine alongside Chronixx, Nomaddz and seven other artistes, highlighted as Artistes to watch for 2013. In March she scored a position on IFE TOP 10 Chart, with “Dem A Chat” holding 5th position, marginally behind Rihanna’s - “Diamonds”, Snoop Lion’s - “Lighters up”, Damian Jr Gong’s - “Affairs of the heart” and Sean Paul’s - “How deep is your love”.

In a press statement Simone said: “I give thanks to Island Fuse Entertainment for making it possible to have this interview and I hope the people will love my music”.
