Portland Jerk Festival Takes Place July 7th at Folly Oval, Port Antonio

Jerk lovers!!!   It’s here again; the annual Portland Jerk FESTIVAL in Jamaica takes place on Sunday July 7th at Folly Oval, Port Antonio

The 2013 Best Dressed Chicken Portland Jerk is being produced by the 20/20 Vision 21st Century Foundation in association with Art of Music, the producers of the Jamaica Jazz & Blues Festival.

In 1999 a vision was created by the Jamaica Tourist Board and the Member of Parliament (Dr. Donlad Rhodd) to promote Boston Jerk culture to the world. The 'Boston Jerk Festival' was the result of this effort.

Now in its 14th year, the foundation through its partners and investors has invested significantly in the product to bring it to what it is today. Currently the festival is operated as a franchise.
 

The all-day festival see master chefs  and local cooks preparing mouth-watering jerk dishes such as jerk pork, chicken, lobster, goat, lamb, fish, and  conch serves with rice and peas, rice, festival, bammy, breadfruit and yam, serves with traditional dishes such as rice and peas, breadfruit and yams.
 

The event is open all day and well into the night, with fun and entertainment for the entire family.
