Otis “ALO VERA” Martin born the 22nd of August 1973, He
has been performing from 1993 on the local circuit. Alo Vera started singing at a tender age, at St. Annie’s
Comprehensive High School. Growing up
in the spoiler’s community of Central Kingston, He had been singing on sound
systems, fairs, Barbecues and community events. He is noted for being the in
house singer for the local hotels in the corporate area.
Alo Vera has been recording since 2000. He has worked with
the likes of Tboots, Naciamaj, Karim from Orange
Hill, dub master Pops and the renowned dub poet Oku Onoura. The song “Love,” Love can save the
day and Mama Cry has been
heavily rotated on the local stations courtesy of Roots FM and Best fm. It is
has been getting rave reviews and rotations on the internet radio stations and
his slowly making moves on the international reggae scene.
In April 2010, Alo Vera left Jamaica and went to St. Maarten where he is now doing his music from, The artiste said its hard doing
music in St. Maarten, people don't support reggae a lot in St. Maarten, Even
when big name artists come here, I open a show for Glen Washington and a lot of
people did not come out to support the show.
Late last year Alo Vera has release his debut album ‘love can save the day’, Produced by Hungry town Muzik, The Label just shoot the videos for the single “Love can save the day” which is the first singles off the album.
Alo Vera has recently registered his own recording label Aloe’s Production. He release his first own produce EP called the HEIGHTS on his own label Aloe’s Production, The HEIGHTS is available in all online stores like Amazon and iTunes, He is also
planning an producing other upcoming artists on his label.
ALO VERA is a prolific writer, sultry, smooth and
charismatic in his delivery. Alo Vera is known for his unique style of singing. His sound
is a mix between jazz and reggae and thrill audiences with his cool and easy
flow. His conscious lyric embodies the Jamaican culture with
universal slogan of love peace and unity. He is an example to follow, a role
model and a leader in every right, A Rastafarian in faith. Alo Vera is one of Jamaica’s promising young artistes and
has cemented his place in the music industry.
Right now he is currently working with a lot of different producers in
Europe, Cultural production in France, Da lion in Portugal and Sendup in Spain
just to name a few, he has recently collaborate with artiste Don dread from
France, ALO VERA is in the studio working on his next Album, while preparing for a tour
in Europe.
