Jamaican Usain Bolt who
won three gold medals at this year’s Olympic Games in London is the top
contender to win the IAAF's Male Athlete of the Year award
for the fourth time.
Bolt
is one of three candidates still standing after the 10-man shortlist named was narrowed
down to three last month. The other two challengers are American 110 m hurdler Aries
Merritt and Kenya's middle distance runner David
Rudisha.
Rudisha is the current Olympic
champion and world record holder over 800 meters while Merritt won gold in
London and at the world indoors in Istanbul.

medallist Yohan Blake
was among the nominees but did no
make it to the top three after three week of voting from fans.
The winner will be announced November 24 at the IAAF centenary gala in Barcelona, Spain.
