Sizzla Concert in Sweden Cancelled after Gay community protest

Reggae artiste Sizzla, who was slated to perform in Stockholm, Sweden on March 28,was cancelled after lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender activists and supporters condemned Sizzla’s anti-gay lyrics, which strongly opposing homosexual lifestyles.

Event organizers have acknowledged the public outcry and accepted the fact that the Sizzla’s messages are in fact in breach of their code of conduct. The organizers have since cancelled the show, which was dubbed “The Reggae Compassionate Act

This is the second time the concert was cancelled, first from the accident that occurred last August.

Sizzla had similar encounter when gay rights groups in Canada and England protested against Sizzla’s music, and was barred from the United Kingdom after being investigated by Scotland Yard for allegedly inciting murder against homosexuals.


In 2007, he was also banned from performing in Montreal and Toronto after protest were made by members of the Canadian Stop Murder Music coalition.

Sizzla is currently embarking on an European and tour and has already played in 18 venues, despite out cry from the members of the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender community (LGBT)
