In 1999, Briggy was brought to the forefront of the dancehall scene when veteran dancehall deejay Spragga Benz collaborated with Briggy and his Red Square team members on Ward 21’s rhythm to voice “Gi Wi Dem.” Though the song didn’t allow for Briggy to become a household name, it gave him vast amount of exposure and recognition among peers and fans of dancehall. Since his introduction to the dancehall fraternity, Briggy has been successful in voicing for some of dancehall top producers such as Don Corleon and Rennassaince.
Remaining loyal to the root and motivation of his musical career, Briggy continues to collaborate with “team Red Square” on various dancehall projects. However, even though Briggy has no intention of drifting from his Red Square team, he is more focused on establishing himself as a solo artist. After his hiatus from the entertainment industry for the last few years, Briggy has resumed his musical journey with enhanced delivery in his performance but more importantly he has made immense strides in growing as a dancehall artist marketing his versatility and talent.
Marketing himself as a cutting edge dancehall artist delivering world class hardcore dancehall songs, Briggy’s return to the dancehall scene has landed him the opportunity of once again teaming up with big name producers in the dancehall world. For his latest projects, Briggy has voiced on two of dancehall top rhythms namely the Audacity rhythm produced by Riff Raff and the Belated Earth Strong rhythm produced by fellow dancehall artist Delly Ranx. Both songs- “My Life” and “Never Lame” has been receiving great rotation on radio stations locally and internationally. Adding to this, the feedback from dancehall supporters about the two songs has been magnificent. Having found a niche market with the release of these two songs, Briggy is confident that he can establish himself as an artist with talent and versatility gaining the love, support and attention of dancehall supporters globally.
Briggy and his Red Square team members are working hard at being a phenomenal for 2012 and beyond. Briggy is confident as well as determined that he and team Red Square will be contributing to the re-birth of dancehall music that delivers vibe, talent and versatility for 2012 and the years to come.
