When the Smirnoff Dream Weekend gets underway at the end of July, Pepsi Jamaica will be along for the ride. This is, as Jamaica’s most popular soft drink and its associated brands will add their special flavour to what is Jamaica’s most popular party weekend.
The Dream Weekend will comprise of Smirnoff Flavours as well Twisted Spiritz on July 29, Daydreams and Yush on July 30, Xtreme Wet and Wild and Beer Vibes on July 30 before culminating with Smirnoff Xclusive on August 1.
Pepsi will have exclusive non-alcohol beverage rights for everything from energy drinks to natural juices. According to Carlo Redwood Head of Marketing for Pepsi Jamaica, products like Ting and Pepsi mix well with product from title sponsors Smirnoff and the various rums that will be consumed in large quantities throughout the weekend as thousands of Jamaicans set out to have a wild, fun-filled weekend. This gives Pepsi even greater opportunity to continue to be the preferred choice in Jamaica.
But, Pepsi Jamaica will also be encouraging responsible drinking during the party weekend. As such, through their product Aqua Essential, Pepsi will have special detox bars set up to aid those who need to be ‘detoxified’. Redwood says they will be encouraging patrons to have spacers between rounds of drinking. “We want to make sure everybody is okay during the weekend,” he said.
According to Redwood, this partnership between Pepsi and Dream Weekend further enforces Pepsi’s commitment to their involvement in Jamaican music. So far this year Pepsi has been involved in the hugely successful Rebel Salute, Youth View Awards and the All-Island Carnival. “Dream weekend is the biggest party weekend in Jamaica. It’s all about our patrons enjoying the music and having a great time,” he said. “And that’s what Pepsi is all about.”
