Reggae singer/songwriter/producer Sadiki, will make his European debut in November. The artist is scheduled for shows in the Netherlands and will also launch his new album “Jah Is The Only King”. While in Europe, Sadiki plans to shoot the music video for his upcoming single “Show You” which is produced by Netherlands production house Area026 Music in conjunction with Sadiki’s Skinny Bwoy Jamaica. He will also plan and execute tours for several artists his Skinny Bwoy Agency represents.

The self-written, 12-track

Majority of the tracks on “
Jah Is The Only King” are produced by top flight Jamaican reggae producer Kemar “Flava” McGregor (Sinead O'Connor, Etana, Cas Haley). Sadiki also worked with the UK’s Chris Peckings (Bitty McLean, Gappy Ranks) and Lloyd Mullings, Netherlands production house/label Area 026 Music, French producers First T & Kross, Japan’s Enjoint and Switzerland’s Hear Me Now! Sadiki’s single “Mama,” set to release tomorrow on iTunes

Writer : Caribbean E-Magazine on Monday, April 23, 2012 | 9:17 PM

Monday, April 23, 2012

Jamaican reggae artist Sadiki is preparing to release a new roots single, titled “Mama,”  Tuesday, April 24, 2012, on iTunes.

Sadiki’s single, produced by Kemar ‘Flava’ McGregor, is a heartfelt cultural ballad with a twist – it describes the family bond between an ailing mother and her son, but at the same time, the song offers a thoughtful commentary on the current state of Jamaican culture. The title, “Mama,” refers in part to the nation of Jamaica itself, and through a succession of sensitive and symbolic lyrics, the song pleads for Jamaican expatriates to regard, support and most importantly, to love their homeland, despite its many struggles.

“The song has a double entendre,” said Sadiki. “Although it’s speaking about mama as a person, it’s also singing about Jamaica as a country. It’s talking about mama’s health. Her health is not good, but she’s not telling you – and then mama discloses that she has cancer. Figuratively, mama is Jamaica. There are cancers within our society spreading at a rapid pace, and Jamaicans from all over the world should take more interest in Mama. We all need to give back to Jamaica.”

Sadiki has seen an upsurge in activity as a singer, songwriter, manager and producer during the past two years. He has collaborated with McGregor on his last two riddim albums, “Cool and Deadly Riddim” and “Club Dance Riddim,”  which commingled Jamaican reggae stars, such as Sanchez, Buju Banton, Nadine Sutherland and Ce’Cile, with British Lovers Rock luminaries, such as Adele Harley, Janet Kay, Carroll Thompson, Peter Spence, Peter Hunnigale and Lady Lex. He currently manages legendary reggae group Chalice, Godfather of Ska Eric Monty Morris and most recently, Sadiki became a member of Jamaican Rocksteady group, The Tennors, who he also manages.

Born Henry Buckley Jr. in Kingston, Jamaica, Sadiki has an extensive resume of chart-topping reggae hits in the United States, Europe and Japan, within both the Lovers Rock and Dancehall Reggae genres. His debut album, “Morning’s Come” was ranked #1 in sales at HMV stores throughout Japan within weeks of its release, and was ranked #5 in sales at Tower Records. His second album, Lifeline, reached #1 on the Weekly Star Chart and #2 on the Foundation Radio Network Top 25 Reggae Albums Chart in New York and South Florida. He is a three-time nominee for “Most Promising Entertainer” at the International Reggae and World Music Awards, and two of his singles, “African Queen” and “Before The Time,” have been ranked #1 on BBC Radio’s World Beat Reggae Chart.
