ntent on leaving an indelible mark in 2014, Triple Dose recording artiste Jah Vinci was nothing short of brilliant at a recent concert on the African continent.  Dubbed the ‘All Star Live Series’, the 14th staging held at the Accra Sports Stadium in Ghana on Saturday, March 8th saw the ‘Watch Yuh Friends’ singer attracting over 20,000 fans in the Ghanaian capital as part of their 57th Independence celebration.

Despite being his inaugural visit to the continent, it was hard to discern as Jah Vinci quickly adapted to the local culture and delivered a scintillating set as patrons within the capacity-filled venue showered bountiful adulation on the melodic crooner. Other commendable performances came courtesy of Ghanian stars: Shatta Wale, Samini, Stonebwoy and Jamaican comrade Popcaan.

Prior to the show Jah Vinci  made stops at a number of local media outlets disseminating his latest updates ; recorded two collaborations titled  Party Time’ and ‘Happiness’ with Shatta Wale and Stonebwoy respectively an official video was also shot for the latter.  The sojourn culminated with a visit to the inner-city community of Nima accompanied by a heavy motorcade of security detailing as well-wishers came out in their hordes to get a glimpse of the Jamaican star.

Snoop Dogg Brings New Life to His Reggae Album "Reincarnated,"

Writer : Caribbean E-Magazine on Monday, April 29, 2013 | 10:27 PM

Monday, April 29, 2013

It's not just a name change, but there's a new take on life for Snoop Lion, who switched his stage name from Snoop Dogg after a trip to Jamaica where he embraced Rastafarian culture.

And the new project works.

Snoop's first reggae album, "Reincarnated," includes some fine production by Major Lazer (aka Diplo), with guest appearances from Miley Cyrus, Akon, Rita Ora and Angela Hunte, who co-wrote the Jay-Z hit "Empire State of Mind."

The rapper is still the marijuana-smoking, ultra-smooth Snoop we've all come to know and love. But he's also more focused on love and happiness, and not the gangsta raps he spewed in the past.

He sings against gun violence on "No Guns Allowed," which features rapper Drake and vocals from his daughter Cori B. The track is special because it shows how Snoop has matured as a musician — and bringing on his 13-year-old daughter only drives home the point. He tackles global warming on "Tired of Running" with Akon, and preaches unity on "Lighters Up," featuring Mavado and Popcaan.

The gem of the album, though, is the dancehall track featuring Cyrus. "Ashtrays and Heartbreaks" is an easygoing track where Cyrus shines alongside Snoop.

While there are some misses — like "Get Away" and "Fruit Juice" — most of Snoop's twelfth studio album is an entertaining piece of work.
