Kaci Fennell Wins Miss Universe Jamaica 2014

n Saturday night at the Karl Hendrickson Auditorium, Jamaica College in St Andrew 21-year-old Mico University College student Kaci Fennell won the title of Miss Universe Jamaica 2014

She beats 18 other ladies to win the coveted title of representing Jamaica at the Miss Universe pageant in Brazil this December.

Roshelle McKinley was first runners up while Kimar Muir was second runners up with Saneta Kerr and Dianne Brown, respectively taking fourth and fifth places.

Rounding off the top 10 were: Shanice Rerrie, Christine Suraj, Davia Lynch, Diedre McKenzie, and Zandrea Bailey

The sectional prize winners were: Most Photogenic, Shantana Folkes; Most Congeniality and Best Runway awarded to Saneta Kerr;  Essence Style Award, Kimar Muir; Best Swimwear, Dianne Brown;  Best Evening Gown and Most Aware, Kaci Fennell and Alturism Charity Award to  Princess Fraser.

Special awards were presented to Maybelline representative Marlene Gray, businessman Desmond Panton and Triple Century Sports Bar owner Chris Gayle

Entertainment for the evening came from a live performance by Gem Myers and music played by Uzuri International. The MCs for the nights' event were Terri-Karelle Reid and Adrian Brown.

Miss Universe- Official Lingerie Photo Shoot - Caribbean Contestants

The Miss Universe Organisation has released the official photos of a swimwear shoot of Miss Universe 2013 contestants.

The contestants took part in the photo shoot for Italian lingerie brand, Yamamay, at the Crowne Plaza Moscow World Trade Centre hotel on 22 October.

New York-based Fashion Photographer Fadil Berisha took the shots of all 86 contestants in bikini.

The 62nd Miss Universe pageant is being held at Crocus City Hall in Moscow, Russia, on November 9^th. Contestants will be competing in three categories: swimsuit, evening gown and interview, as they vie for the title.  The will be crown by the reigning Miss Universe,Olivia Culpo.

Kerrie Baylis Wins Miss Universe Jamaica 2013

Last night at the Jewels Resort in Ocho Rios, twenty four year old Kerrie Baylis won the Miss Universe Jamaica title from a field of 11 competitors.

Baylis will be representing Jamaica at the Miss Universe Pageant in Moscow, Russia on November 9, 2013. She also won the sectional awards for Most Aware and Best in Swimsuit.

 

First runners up went to Chantal Davis while Salomie Campbell was the second runner-up along with winning Best in Evening Wear.  Rounding out the top five were Monique Brady and Kashema Scarlett
respectively.

Three times might be the charm for Baylis who in 2012 won the Miss Jamzone International 2012 and Miss Jamaica World 2009.  At the Miss World competition she was placed 16th in the Beach Beauty competition, second the Miss Sports; 7th in the Miss Top Model and 3rd in Best World Dress Designer.

Miss Universe Jamaica 2013 Set for September 8th in Ocho Rios

Uzuri International, the new franchise holder of the Miss Universe Jamaica  has announced that this year’s competition will be held on September 8th at Jewels Resort in Ocho Rios.

 

 

 

 

The completion was originally schedule to take place in July at Emancipation Park in St Andrew., but was cancelled last minute by previous franchise holder DimitrisKosvogiannis, who relinquished the franchise because of lack of sponsorship and other professional obligations

The new franchise holder Uzuri International who in the past years has been a major sponsor will stage a "boutique contest”, where 10 contestants will vie for the title to represent Jamaica at his year’s competition at the Crocus City Hall in Moscow on November 9th.

The reigning queen is Chantal Zaky.

Chantal Zaky is Miss Universe Jamaica 2012

On Saturday a new Miss Universe Jamaica was crowned and 24 year Chantal Zaky walked away with the title, which was held at the National Indoor Sports Centre in St Andrew.

Chantal was placed third when she entered the competition last year who amongst the crowd’s favourite, and proved herself worthy of this coveted title from a field of 16 beauties. She will represent Jamaica at the Miss Universe Pageant which will be held in South African this year.

First runners up went to Racquel Jones and second runners was Sherece Cowan, who also won the award for People Choice Rounding up to the top five were Amanda Mitchell and Danisha Scott.

Other sectional prize winners were Sonya Stewart for Most Congenial, Allyson Gayle grabbed Most Aware and Chantal Zaky received the Best Body award.

This year 11 contestants were chosen for the semi finals, as there was a tie, based on the prejudging, which came as a surprise to the audience.

The Judges for the night were Deiwight Peters from Saints International, Novia McDonald-Whyte, Kenya Linton-George and State Minister in the Ministry of Tourism and Entertainment, Damion Crawford.

.Hosts Kerie Ann 'Kiki' Lewis and Andrew Lawrence introduced the surprised guest of the night the reigning Miss Universe, Leila Lopes, who was looking radiant in her blazing red,Grecian inspired gown

Miss Universe Jamaica 2011, Shakira Martin, made her final walk before handing over the crown her successor.
