Shaggy to perform at "Gala" to help build homes in Haiti.

Reggae singer, Shaggy has partnered with South Florida based-nonprofit Food For The Poor to help build homes in Haiti.

Shaggy will perform this Saturday, February 4, at a the Food For Poor's annual Building Hope Gala to held at The Polo Club of Boca Raton.

Food  For The Poor, is the largest international relief and development organization in the nation, does much more than feed millions of the hungry poor in 17 countries of the Caribbean and Latin America. This interdenominational Christian ministry provides emergency relief assistance, clean water, medicines, educational materials, homes, support for orphans and the aged, skills training and micro-enterprise development assistance, with more than 96 percent of all donations going directly to programs that help the poor.

Haitian People's Support Project Needs Your Help

In response to what we consider to be an emergency situation and humanitarian crisis, Haitian People's Support Project www.haitiansupportproject.org and its partners are organizing concert series that will raise awareness and funds to assist in the resettling of the displaced.

Multiple sponsors are sought to make this project a reality and we hope that you will consider becoming a sponsor for this movement. Your tax-deductible donation will assist in securing artists that will join the concerts.

Additional concerts are being organized for Los Angeles, Nashville, Miami, Denver and Haiti throughout 2012.

HPSP and its partners are working on enlisting the cooperation of the government of Haiti, investors, universities, individuals, Haitian organizations, non-profit organizations located in Haiti and abroad, and corporations and foundations that have previously donated to relief efforts. An invitation for cooperation will be extended to all of the music industry and we expect that the concerts will evolve into a movement that will allow us to have a meaningful impact in Haiti.

Yendi Phillipps Foundation "DARE TO CARE" Clothes and Dood Drive!

The Yendi Phillipps Foundation recently held a "DARE TO CARE" clothes and food drive!  The event was held on Saturday at Babeelicious in Kingston, which benefits the Mustard Seed homes  for HIV/AIDS patients aged 1 to 19 years.


 The event was a success,and the foundation would like to thanks those who came out to show their support and made donations.

Shaggy and Friends Concert to be headline by Lauryn Hill, Ne-Yo and Deniece Williams

The Shaggy and Friends Concert will be headline this year by International recording artistes Lauryn Hill, Ne-Yo and Deniece Williams.  The concert which is organized by Shaggy and Friends Make a Difference Foundation will benefit the Bustamante Hospital for Children in Kingston, which first  started in 2009

Schedule to take place this year  at Jamaica House on Friday December 30th . Other  performing artiste are  Stephen Marley, Chino, Romain Virgo, Assassin aka Agent Sasco, Half Pint, Wayne Marshall, Tami Chynn, Cocoa Tea and soca’s first couple Bunji Garlin and Fay-Ann Lyons from Trinidad

So far the Shaggy and Friends Make A Difference foundation have raised a total of J$57,000,000. All  proceeds from the concert will help to furnish the new cardiac centre and intensive care unit at the paediatric hospital which is the only one on the island.

The Shaggy Foundation will work in partnership with Chain of Hope, a group of volunteer doctors and nurses who perform surgeries each year on Jamaica’s children with heart disease

Some major sponsors have already given donation, Scotiabank contributed $5 million, KFC presented a cheque for $1 million, while LIME committed $7.7 million towards the cause

Tickets will cost Platinum, $25,000; Gold, $10,000 and Silver $5,000.

Mavado "back-to-school treat"

Over the last five years Singjay Mavado  has been giving back to his community of Cassava Piece . Last week he had back-to-school treat for the children in the area, where kids were given back to school supplies..

It would be really nice if more entertainers, celebrities and organization can follow suit and give back to our kids who are badly in need.
