B
londie Ras Productions, Caribcast and Jamaicans.com announced this week that The Caribbean Diaspora Weekly will now be broadcast weekly on One Caribbean Television (OCTV) and Caribvision. The show premiers on OCTV on Monday, April 28 at 8:00 PM and on Caribvision on Tuesday, April 29 at 10:30 PM.

OCTV broadcasts in New York, Philadelphia, Boston, Chicago, DC and Lehigh Valley on RCN Cable, where it is positioned between the Food Network and Travel Channel. The channel also begins broadcast in Toronto on Bell Fibe basic cable at the end of April.

Caribvision broadcasts in over 20 Caribbean countries on cable, and in New York, New Jersey and Connecticut on Cablevision.

"Caribvision is happy to bring a show with a new perspective on board with our programming lineup. It's great to show Caribbean issues from the eyes of our expatriates. And it helps that the show looks great too!” said Lori Weatherhead, Team Leader, Caribbean Media Corporation.

The Caribbean Diaspora Weekly program offers a thoughtful, engaging and relatable look at our world from the perspective of Caribbean people living overseas.  Each week, The Caribbean Diaspora Weekly offers a Roundup of news highlights from the Caribbean and the diaspora, an Exposé on issues and people making an impact in our community, and a thought-provoking Perspective on a controversial subject.

The Caribbean Diaspora Weekly  is hosted by Entertainment personality Calibe Thompson whose colorful character brings drama, class and intellect to each week's presentation.

"If with each program we've helped to show the people back home a little of how the diaspora thinks, and shown the Caribbean diaspora that we have more in common than we all thought, then we've done a good job. There are a number of extraordinary characters in our community. We think our program offers a great start to showcasing what our people can do." Said show's host, Calibe Thompson. The Caribbean Diaspora Weekly is a production of Blondie Ras Productions, Caribcast and Jamaicans.com.
