"Double Shots Vol. 1" Takes Aim at Showcasing Versatility In Jamaican artistes

The first reggae compilation boasting seven different rhythms is to be released on August 20.  Titled Double Shots Vol. 1, it features production work from Adrian ‘Donsome’ Hanson, Peter ‘Shady’ Harrison and Kemar "Flava" McGregor.

In a release to the media, Hanson explained the concept behind Double Shots Vol. 1


‘The concept is really to bring something to reggae music that has never been done before. We view this as the perfect medium to showcase the versatility of our Jamaican artistes’, Hanson said.

The compilation features artistes with two songs on one rhythm. The rhythms are Crime Stop, Amore, Skank, Rock Steady, Trumpet, So Solid and Michikea rhythms.

Songs featured are; Mama Bawl and Certified Lover by Gyptian; Second Place and Set an Example by Khago; Yardie by Lukie D and Busy Signal, while his group LUST is featured on My Woman; Sweeter and Shelly Ann by Coco Tea; Feel Love and When I Call by Chezidek; Jah Will See You Through and Inside or Outside by Aincient; This is by Tony Curtis and This is (Remix) by Curtis featuring Jigsy King.

Hanson noted that more releases in the Double Shots series are to be released.

‘We are already working on Double Shots Vol. 2 and we are also going to release Double Shots Dancehall Style Vol. 1’, said Hanson.

Double Shots Vol. 1 is due August 20 via ITunes, Amazon, Emusic and other online retailers.
