Etana's new
dub single was produced by Kemar "Flava" McGregor
in conjunction with a series of newly-mixed
renditions of McGregor's most renowned roots singles, recorded by the likes of Luciano, Gyptian, Beres Hammond, Bushman,
Sizzla, Queen Ifrica, Capleton, Turbulence, I-Octane and Morgan Heritage.
McGregor's new dubstyle version of "I Am Strong"
was ranked as Etana's #1 download on iTunes during
the week following the song's release.
Born in Saint Andrew, Jamaica, Etana is regarded as
one of the most popular young reggae singers in the international music
industry. She was nominated for "Best New Reggae Act," at the 2008
Music of Black Origin Awards (MOBO) in connection with her 2008 debut album, "The Strong One."
She won "Album of
the Year"
at the International Reggae and World Music Awards
(IRAWMA) in 2009, and won "Best Female Vocalist" at the
Excellence in Music and Entertainment Awards (EME) in 2009.
