The Frenchmen group is one of Jamaica’s premiere promoters of premium events and has a wide following of regional and overseas partiers. Blocko and Bazodee have become ‘must-go’ parties on the JA Carnival fete calendar and this year’s editions certainly lived up to all the hype.

The suburban, residential community of Jacks Hill was the site of the annual Blocko.

The Frenchmen spared no expense to ensure the safety and convenience of their patrons as evidenced by the helpful security guards on hand to secure both patrons and parked cars and of course the faithful shuttle service to and from the venue.

The wonderful atmosphere was perfect for partying yet had a homely feel as if one was at a good friend or neighbour’s back yard Soca session. Drinks (both alcoholic and non-alcoholic) were available at the many bars situated strategically about the venue. A food station which served several Caribbean delicacies was also present for those desiring some sustenance amidst the ‘jump and wave’ euphoria.

Although the ambiance and refreshments had put a smile on everyone’s face that night, the highlight of the event had to be sizzling Soca mixes being churned out by DJs Smoke and T&T’s Alicia D Dutchess.

Every year, the night before the parade or ‘the road march’ (as the locals call it) is indeed a special one as the Carnival junkies head uptown to enjoy Kingston’s ultra-inclusive Soca event produced by the Frenchmen entitled Bazodee”.

The 2013 edition of Bazodee brought a certain amount of extra fashion consciousness to the Soca loving fraternity of Jamaica and saw attendees putting an extra dose of “swankyness” into their dress code for the evening.

The action at this chic Cherry Gardens affair started from as early as 9pm as most patrons wanted to soak in as much of the premium entertainment as possible before gaining some hours of sleep in anticipation of the Carnival Sunday morning road march.

The spacious private residence was fully and appropriately utilized by the organizers and boasted food stalls towards the back of the venue offering delectable food selections including Jerk Chicken, BBQ Pigtails, Curried Goat, Saheenas, fresh fruit and mouth watering desserts.

The fully-stocked premium bars and action packed dance floor area made for many a memorable Carnival moment.

The Frenchmen group’s 2013 parties were epic events... Definite jewels on the Carnival fete crown.
