The TCI Top
Model Contest is an event that is envisioned to give those persons
residing in the Turks and Caicos Islands interested in careers in the fashion
and creative industry an opportunity and the platform to debut, by showcasing
their talent, with the hope that this will be a springboard to a career in
fashion locally or further afield.
In the run up to the event, All aspiring
models (and Contestants) attend workshops on: the fashion industry and
modeling, interview & networking skills, personality & self esteem,
presentation, fitness & healthy eating, branding, being a spokesperson/ambassador
and life in the media from local industry experts. What is more, they undergo
professional photo shoots and portfolios complied of their best photographs.
TCITM’s intention is to groom talent with the view of shaping a well-rounded
individual who is desirous about being apart of the creative industry.
Winners of the TCI Top Model Contest
have signed with top New York fashion modeling agencies. Davia
Chambers, TCI Top Model 2009 (formerly TCI
Supermodel) signed with Ikon Model Management
in 2009. Most recently, Washanda
Registre, TCI Top Model 2012 - signed a
three-year contract with Wilhelmina Models.
Washanda, also Digicel TCI Brand Ambassador 2012 - has appeared on the cover
and in the pages of Times of the Islands Summer 2012,Destination
TCI 2013, Discover TCI 2013, Digicel TCI advertising campaigns
along with a host of newspapers and online periodicals. What is
more, Raynelis Howell, TCI Fashion Designer of the Year (2010) has gone on
to produce collections and showcased her designs at such prestigious events
as Islands of the World Fashion Week in The Bahamas!

LUXE, the fourth installment of the 2013 TCI
Top Model Contest has planned four (4) spectacular events that will see
contestants, models, sponsors and patrons decked out to the nines for what is
expected to be a grand affair.

ABOUT the event: Regent Village is proud
to be known as the quintessential destination for high-end shopping, fine wine
and dining – where that level of sophistication cannot be found elsewhere on
Provo, let alone the Turks & Caicos. With that in mind, where else would
you expect TCI’s equivalent to ‘Fashion’s Night Out’ in the late afternoon, but
on Regent Street – the uber sexy address on world famous Grace Bay!
What to expect: appearances by the 2013
TCI Top Model Contestants, a fashion show featuring area retailers, fabulous
cuisine, live entertainment, amazing music, prizes, surprises and the most
magnificent afternoon pre-event party of your lives!

for the TCI Top Model Contest & Fashion Extravaganza.
