Miss Guadeloupe, Elody Pradel wins Miss Caraibes Hibiscus 2013

Miss Guadeloupe, Elody Pradel won the title at the 22nd Miss Caraibes Hibiscus Pageant from a field of 19 contestants which was held at the Casino Royale in St Maarten recently.

The 20-year-old also walked away with $10,000 cash prize along with gifts from Sports Gallery, L’Orangerie Boutique, Park Avenue, Touch of Class, Ultimate Jewellers, Hip Up, Shoppers Plaza and Anthony Quintana.

Elody Pradel, who no stranger to beauty pageants as she participated in the Miss United Nations and was recently placed second runners up in the Miss International 2012 which was held in Okinawa Japan. She

The first runner up went to 22 year old Melissa Him Betancourt from Panama who received $2,000 in cash, while Milady’s Tara Barrios from Venezuela was awarded second runner up and $1,000 in cash

The sectional awards:

Miss Photogenic went to Miss Colombia Melissa Varon

Miss Amity was awarded to 21 year old Ranee Laronde of Antigua.

Miss Popularity title went to Miss St Maarten, 21-year-old Stephanie Fraites

 

Those making it to the top 10 included Miss Antigua & Barbuda, Miss Bolivia, Miss Colombia, Miss Guadeloupe, Miss Jamaica, Miss Panama, Miss Puerto Rico, Miss St Barths, Miss Suriname and Miss Venezuela.

·        Nancy Martinez - Guatemala

·        Alvina Plunket - French Guyane

·        Carene Vertus - Haiti

·        Shakira Martin - Jamaica

·        Carol Luce - Martinique

·        Marelissa Him Betancourt - Panama

·        Kiara Michelle Rodriguez - Puerto Rico

·        Jade Maithe Juraver-Greaux - St Barths

·        Stephanie Fraites - St Maarten

·        Debora Marlene Ravenberg - Suriname

·        Nekia Edwards - USA

·        Mileidy Tarra Barrios - Venezuela.

 

 The crown was passed on by last year’s queen Olivia Pinheiro from Bolivia winner in an emotional ceremony. She said   ‘Saint Martin/St Maarten was her second home. “I have a place in my heart for this island now,” she said. And when it was time to crown Pradel, she did so with honor and with a wonderful smile on her beautiful face. Her job is finished, now it’s Pradel’s turn.
