On Sunday night at the Princess International Hotel
Providence Ruqayyah Boyer was crowned Miss Guyana Universe 2012. The twenty year
old Boyer will be represent Guyana at the Miss Universe Pageant on December 11.
First runner up went Nikita Barker who also won the
awards for Miss ‘Body Beautiful’ and ‘Best Smile’. Nikita was the crowd’s
favourite to win the competition but stumbled on her final question
Sadhna Yunus and Nikesha Alexander were place second
and third runners up respectively, while Fayedha King was fourth runner-up. Eumani
Bourne won ‘Miss Congeniality.’
During the question and answer segment Boyer was
asked who was her role model and why, she responded the, her role model was the
reigning Miss Universe Leila Lopes., who was also in attendance at the event.

were Steve Ninvalle, Roger Gary, Candace Lindo, Ulex Atwell-Fung, Paul
