This is the seventh win for Dominica since the competition started 51 years ago. Miss St Kitts & Nevis Kailah Huggins was first runner-up, while second runner-up went to St Lucia’s Roxanne Nicholas
Nadira also won the best modeling sytle award in the Evening Wear segment, in which she wore a red dress with a dove tail flounced skirt and a translucent bodice decorated with sequins and rhinestones. Third place winner Roxanne Nicholas of St Lucia was awarded best Swimwear and best Talent Performance, by doing contemporary dance to Michael Jackson song “Childhood”. Miss Anguilla Olufunmike Devonish won Miss Congeniality and Most Photogenic.

The preliminaries were held on August 1, when 10 of the 15 contestants made the finals. They were; Miss Jamaica, Miss Dominica, Miss St. Kitts-Nevis, Miss St. Vincent and the Grenadines, Miss St. Croix, Miss Trinidad and Tobago, Miss British Virgin Islands, Miss Anguilla, Miss Antigua & Barbuda and Miss St. Lucia
On the night competition the top five were chosen from the top 10, which include Trinidad and Tobago, St. Kitts, Dominica, St. Lucia and Antigua and Barbuda.
Miss Dominica Nadira Lando is also the current Miss Caribbean World title holder
