International Reggae and World Music Awards - IRAWMA's to be held on July 5th, 2012.

The 31th Annual International Reggae And World Music Awards (IRAWMA), will be held this year, from July 4 - 8, 2012 at Washington Park Chicago. This years event will be in conjunction with the 20th Festival of Life and in Honor Jamaica's 50th year of Independence.

The nominees were announced on March 19th, and leading with 6 nominations is South African  female artiste Nkulee Dube, who became the first ever Non-Caribbean Artiste to have received so many nominations.

Tarrus Riley and Mavado each received 4 nominations , while The Marley brothers, Damian Stephen  and Ziggy along with Queen Ifrika, Third World, Fab 5 and Machel Montano all were nominees in 3 categories.


Reggae superstar Buju Banton has also nabbed 2 nominations, for Best Song,“Jah Army” a collaboration with Stephen and Damian Marley. His second nomination is for Concert Of The Year for his historic Before the Dawn Concert which was held in Miami in January of 2011.
