Last year, 84 contestants from various countries competed for the title. Nicole Faria, a model from India, walked away with the prestigious crown.

The Miss Earth Jamaica pageant is also in need of more sponsorship.
Appealing to sponsors
"We want to bring home the crown this year. As such, we are appealing to sponsors to come on board to make this pageant a success. This is our opportunity to sell Jamaica to billions of viewers around the world and our chance to cop this prestigious international title.
The final will take the form of a casting in October. The girls will appear before a panel of judges and the winner will be selected to represent Jamaica.
