Macka Diamond "Weary of Harsh Criticisms"

Dancehall artiste Macka Diamond has this to say to her detractors, “Get wid it! One is as old as he/she feels and right now my swag tun up!” Ahead of dropping a new video and launching a beefed-up publicity campaign for her new ‘Cow Foot’ track, the veteran Dancehall artiste says she acknowledges that the music industry is not the same as it was 10 years ago, ‘young music fans appreciate more, music grown folks believe is nonsensical,’ she said then continued “from my experience you can’t ignore what the people want, dem say Cow foot so a Cow foot a do it.”

Macka Diamond said she released a couple of Dancehall tracks over the past few weeks/month and personally loved a track called, “Too Much Bull Ina De Video Light” she thought was more promising and prospective hit but observed that the fans preferred ‘Cow Foot,’a silly song' she called it as oppose to the others; in keeping with trends shen then decided to promote 'Cow Foot' Macka said, “a Cow Foot the people dem keep requesting ina de Dance, Shelly Belly even created a Dance for it which add to the excitement it jus run gone lef everything else.”

Weary of Harsh Criticisms
Macka Diamond confessed that there are times when she really consider what her future will hold in the business but her love for it has kept her going. She said she is weary of the harsh criticisms meted out to veterans such as her having to do with the ‘age factor’ but like her peers is not deterred from doing music. “When we start to respect each other then we will accept and allow people to decide when it’s their time to pack up. Not only in the music industry but in other organizations persons seem to want to put people into early retirement, well I know I have so much more than a ‘bit’ of energy in me and I will know when it is time for me to stop.” So what’s next for Macka Diamond? “well ummh! maybe some Diamond Cutt Cowfoot on the supermarket shelves” she said in unending laughter
