The Lions Centre will be decorated in Cupid’s colours tonight (Friday, 13 February) for the fourth annual Red & White Affair.

In celebration of Valentine’s Day, the event will feature some of reggae’s most romantic artists.

Organised by Champion Promotions to benefit Roma Football Club, the Red & White Affair will feature Ken Boothe, Terry Linen and LUST.

Champion Promotions’ Garth Ngyou said, “This is the fourth consecutive year that the Red & White Affair has been bringing some of the top reggae singers in the world to the Cayman Islands. It is the best Valentine’s event to take place in Cayman, and guests look forward to a night of unrivalled entertainment, and a romantic evening where they get to hear some of the greatest love songs ever made.”

Ken Boothe is legendary in the reggae genre and is known as ‘Mr. Rock Steady.’ His classic hits include ‘The Train is Coming’, ‘Everything I Own’, and “Crying Over You’. He is a recipient of Jamaica’s Order of Distinction, the Bob Marley Lifetime Achievement Award, and a spot in the Caribbean Hall of Fame. His musical career stretches back to the early 1960s, with generations of fans enjoying his timeless love songs.

Terry Linen is one of reggae music’s greatest new talents. His first hits include ‘Couldn’t Be the Girl for Me’ and ‘Jah Jah You Save Me’. In 1999, he recorded a successful cover of Whitney Houston’s ‘Your Love Is My Love’. Other hits include ‘Call On A Friend’ and ‘Counting Hours’ as well as ‘Mood For Love’, ‘No Time To Linger’ and his latest - ‘A Better Man’.

LUST is comprised of singers Lukie D, Trilla U, Singing Melody and Tony Curtis. The group is known for the hit ‘Run Free’ on the Zion Gate rhythm. All members have achieved individual success, and together, the four members of LUST combine to deliver powerful harmonies and memorable stage shows.

In addition to a full night of romantic reggae melodies, guests at the Red & White Affair can win a slew of prizes.

To add to the event’s attractions, McDonald’s will have a food stand at the venue and Infinity Fashions will do a mini-fashion show before the night’s local artists perform.

Admission to the Red & White Affair costs $25 in advance or $35 at the gate. VIP tickets are available for $60 for a single ticket or $100 per couple. Tickets for the Red & White Affair are available at Champion Accessories, Funky Tangs, J&M Electronics, all Western Union outlets, and Reflections.
