Local opera singer to perform at Jamaica show

The Jamaica Jazz & Blues is back again for its annual staging to be held from Thursday, January 22, 2009 to Saturday, January 24, 2009 featuring Dominica opera singer Marie-Claire.
The weekend will showcase International and Local acts from the music industry.
Marie-Claire accompanied by acclaimed jazz pianist Dr. Kathy Brown will be one of the chosen musicians that were hand selected to perform on Saturday, January 24, 2009 on the Jazz & Blues small stage.
Marie-Claire is no stranger to the island as she has visited on several occasions for performances throughout the entertainment circuits, but it will be her first performing at Jazz & Blues and an event of such caliber in the Caribbean.
Marie-Claire plans to captivate her audience with her melodious voice and leaving her twist of Opera on the Jazz & Blues audiences mind.
"She is the real Hip-Hopera, hearing is believing!" according to reviews from CNN.
On Friday, January 30, 2009, Marie-Claire will represent once more as the evolution continues at The Red Bones Blues Café, 21 Braemar Avenue, Kingston 5. Start time 9:00pm and admission will be $600. She will be accompanied by jazz pianist Dr. Kathy Brown.
