Armed with a plethora
of new material 'Comeback Artiste Of The Year' aspirant Ninja
Kid continues to deliver that venom required to entertain the
dancehall masses.
One of the specially invited guest, Ninja Kid whose given name
is Ojukwu Simpson along with Elephant Man on
Saturday invaded Eastern and Central Jamaica, delivering high energy
performances to the hundreds in attendance. The concerts are a part of the
ongoing CVM Television Cross Country Tour to commemorate Jamaica's 50th
Independence celebration later this year.
The tour made its first stop in Port Antonio, Portland where it
experienced some minor hiccups before heading into Ocho Rios, St. Ann to a huge
welcome as Kid commanded attention with songs like: 'Have Nuh Gal Like We'
and 'Menke' before introducing Elephant Man to further heighten the
experience.
Other commendable performances came from Mr. Lexx and Aaron
Silk, brother of deceased Reggae icon Garnet Silk.
"The experience was great and to see the fans come out in
their numbers is a very fulfilling feeling__ I just want to extend a heartfelt
thank you to CVM Television and Elephant Man for the opportunity" - a jovial Ninja Kid lamented.
This Friday, June 29th the 'Menke' singer is
booked to perform at Guinness Club Hamma on the front lawn of
Hotel Versalles, May Pen along with Darkcide International and
DJ Toxic.

Resurgent deejay Ninja Kid is
the latest member of the dancehall fraternity to be featured in an
international magazine. The Jamaican entertainer whose given name is Ojukwu
Simpson is featured in the June issue of Canada’s very popular L3Magazine.
In the three page spread chronicled
by Tricia Spence, Kid talks about his formidable years in the 90s, how he got
his break and working with some of the industry’s current icons to his present
reinvention.
Currently a nominee for this years’ 'Comeback Artiste Of
The Year' at the 2012 Music Industry Achievers awards, Kid
is very pleased with the state of his career and has been working assiduously
with his management to raise his profile.
"I try to record several songs
weekly because this is a very competitive industry and you have to have a
strategy to stay ahead of the game if you want to rise to the top." He explained.
Since returning to the scene Ninja
Kid has released five music videos namely: 'Menke', 'Have Nuh Gal Like We / Tongue Ring Shot',
'Dem' featuring Markus Myrie and his
Summer offering 'Look Pon Duh Gal Deh'.
Plans are also in motion to shoot videos for his current singles 'Stushy
Stushy' on the Mattrass Riddim and 'Gal Bubble' with Mr. Vegas.
Meanwhile, Kid will headline Guinness
Club Hamma scheduled for June 29th on the front lawn of Hotel
Versalles, May Pen.

Dancehall recording artiste Ninja Kid and Mr.
Vegas has teamed up with international award winning producer Jah
Snow Cone on his latest project, the ‘Mercury Rhythm’. With
some of the biggest names in local music on the compilation, the two lent their
effort to a collaboration titled ‘Gal Bubble’, which is expected to be
released via iTunes and other digital platforms soon.
Though still unreleased, the song which exudes that
authentic old school dancehall vibe has been creating a buzz locally following
its premier last week by selected radio jocks. An official video is expected to
follow suit. This is not the first time the two have collaborated. Back
in the early 90s’ Kid and Vegas released a single on the Mixing Lab imprint
called ‘Tall Up Tall Up’.
Producer Snow Cone, on the resurgence has worked
with some of the biggest names locally and internationally resulting in
him copping an ASCAP Award for Sean Paul's hit single "Temperature"(off
the The Trinity album) the most performed song for 2006 which
reached the top of the R&B and rap music charts. The Trinitygarnered a Billboard
Award as the "Top Selling Reggae Album of the Year" for
2005 and its single "Temperature" earned the 2006Billboard award
for "Hot 100 Single of the Year.
Meanwhile, set to perform at this weekend’s
inaugural staging of Rumfire Ochi Explosion at Margaritaville, Ocho Rios. Ninja
Kid whose given name is Ojukwu Simpson on Sunday shot the video for
his summer entry ‘Look Pon Duh Gal Deh’ (Summer Again) and will
also be officially premiering his video for the thought provoking ‘Dem’ featuring
Markus Myrie (son of incarcerated Reggae superstar Buju Banton) this
week.

Following
an earlier nomination for ‘Comeback Artiste of the Year’ at this
year’s Music Industry Achievers Awards (M.I.A) dancehall deejay Ninja
Kid continues to show upward mobility in his career
On
Wednesday afternoon the entertainer along with producer turn artiste Markus
Myrie shot the video for their single ‘Dem’. Captured through the
precision lens of director, Short Filmz Jamaica the project was shot on
location at the Gargamel Studio with additional stops in Constant Spring,
Half-Way-Tree, Red Hills and sections of the White Hall community.
According
to Ninja Kid and Markus, the video storyline depicts the plight of a Jamaican
artiste as he goes about his daily endeavours while highlighting the challenges
sometimes encountered. The video features cameos by ZJ Wahwa, Kiprich, D’Angel,
Blak Ryno and veteran deejay Ninja Man.

Despite
several appearances on previous projects, this is an achievement for Myrie. “this
is a milestone for me being my first official single and video as an artiste” –
Myrie added. The emerging producer also recently copped the ’Rookie
Producer of the Year’ award at the 2012 Hapilos 21st Awards held at
Waterfalls, Liguanea.
‘Dem’ is
Kid’s, second video since the start of 2012 and he’s expected to release two
additional videos leading into Summer.

Dancehall deejay Ninja Kid over the weekend left his imprint in St. Ann delivering commendable performances at Zip FM's ZJ Dymond Birthday celebrations and the Jamaica International Kite Festival.
Despite the heavy showers, that did very little to deter patrons who turned out in their numbers of witness some of their favourite acts on stage. Kid did not disappoint with a set that showed growth and experience while paying homage to the dignitaries in the audience.
Riding high with singles such as 'Menke' and 'Have Nuh Gal Like We', the artiste whose given name is Ojukwu Simpson has once again teamed up with emerging producer Markus Myrie for the thought provoking single 'Dem' currently making in rows on the radio waves. Talks are presently on the way for an accompanying video.
