French Beauty Elisa Barré Set Eyes on Miss Global International Crown

She completed her Masters in Political Science two years ago at UWI Mona and now Elisa Barré has returned to Jamaica with her eyes set on taking the Miss Global International crown back to her native Guadeloupe.

The French Antillean beauty, who won the title of Miss Global Guadeloupe 2013 in June this year,  will join over 40 contestants from around the world at the Jamaica Grande in Montego Bay where they will vie for the coveted crown.

Barré, who has fond memories of her time in Jamaica hopes that with her win she could encourage greater partnerships between the two nations.

“Despite differences in language, we still have much in common including a history of enslavement and subsequent freedom from slavery”, she states. “In both islands the people are full of love and are welcoming and we even eat a lot of the same foods,” adds the 26-year old with a gleaming smile.

While in Jamaica Barré also put her modeling skills to use as Dream Girl, promoting Dream Entertainment’s annual Smirnoff Dream Weekend.

The University of Bordeaux IV graduate with a License of Law says she would like to contribute to the growing movement of inter-Caribbean cooperation and become a cultural ambassador, highlighting the rich heritage and diversity of her country and region. In addition, as Miss Global Guadeloupe, she would like to promote The Caribbean Space Conference set for Puerto Rico in 2014.

Passionate about nature and outdoor adventures, Barré is vocal about eco-sustainable tourism which she sees as the viable tourism option for her homeland.
 

Barré is currently hostess and assistant to Patrick Soulez at Radio RCI Chō, where she promotes local artists, as well as the island's tourist destinations and unique businesses.

The sporty, epicurean with a taste for adventure; practices yoga and enjoys an overall healthy lifestyle. She also loves traveling and meeting people from around the world while practicing what she considers "the art of welcoming."
