Miss Guyana Universe 2011 is Kara Lord

Kara Lord walked  away with the title of the Miss Guyana Universe Pageant last night at Princess Hotel, Providence, East Bank Demerara. The 23 year old will now represent Guyana in Miss Universe 2011 pageant, in Sao Paulo, Brazil, September.

Kara who holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from the University of the West Indies, originally not the crowd favorite worked the stage with confidence.
Seromanie Choomanlall  who was voted People choice winner from our online poll,was the first runner-up while  Judith Sullivan was the second runner-up. Roshini Boodhoo reigning Miss India Guyana 2011, Madonna Ghanie and Ayana Harris completed the Top 6. Delegates were judged based on articulation, quality of response, poise and overall appearance in the swimsuit, evening gown and question and answer segments.

Anesha Benjamin was named Miss Congeniality, while Madonna Ghanie received prizes for the best smile and body.
