Dubb Master Chris, of Irie Jam radio in New York, insisted that during the month of February (Black History Month), that he will not be playing any of Vybz Kartel music.
The host feels that by playing Kartel music during the historical month will send the wrong message to is younger audience, about skin bleaching .
In an interview with the Jamaican Star, Chris said "Black History Month is a big deal and we as a people should take every opportunity to celebrate our heritage. I feel if I continue to play Vybz Kartel, an artiste who is now very much known for bleaching his skin, it simply sends the wrong message to my young impressionable listeners"
