A promising young artist is dead
25 year old Lil' Joe, an upcoming artiste died at the University Hospital of The West Indies in St Andrew yesterday. It was reported that after a the singer performed Sunday night in the parish of St Thomas he was rushed to the hospital and died from a ruptured blood vessel.

Percy ‘Striker’ Oblington is dead
Trinidadian Calypso King ‘The Mighty Striker’, died on Saturday February 5th, 2011. The 81 year old after died being ill for some time, with with prostate cancer.
Striker won the Calypso King Competition, now the National Calypso Monarch competition, back to back in 1958 and 1959.
