Miss Trinidad & Tobago UK 2010, Anushka Ramjag is set to to relinquish her title due to circumstances beyond her control. Anushka won the the title on May 1 at the Tabernacle, Powis Square in London.
Melanie Peterkin-Phillip, the first runner up and who aslo won Miss Elegance will now become the reigning queen
This decision was announced last week by the organisers of the event, stating Ramjag would soon be giving up residency in the United Kingdom to return to Trinidad. She is a T&T Government scholar studying for an MSc in Biology at the Imperial College London and will be graduating this year and must return home under the terms of her scholarship.
The T&T beauty said she enjoyed the exposure the title brings with it and has offered to continue to support Miss T&T UK Charity Kind, which is based in Trinidad, when she returns home.
