Tributes to Ice flood the Internet

His death seems to have been overshadowed by the fighting words delivered at Sting Friday night into Saturday morning.
However, fans of the slain dancer David Alexander Smith, more popularly known as Ice, who was gunned down Friday morning in Kingston, will not let his life go unremembered.
Deafening silence
Tributes of various kinds for the dancer flooded the Internet and social sites YouTube and MySpace over the weekend even though there was a deafening silence about his death at Sting.
On YouTube.com, comments were posted under a video entitled 'RIP ICE' and Elephant Man's Gully Creepa/Boom video also posted on the website.
"I was just watching a video of Bogle dancing to TOK's Footprints and someone mentioned Ice was gone too. Wow. That was a shock. Condolences to his family," posted The Best Dancing.
Innocent people
Romeo14369 also commented "condolences to you and your family. I find it interesting that people will kill innocent people for no reason and think they are tough or gangsta for doing it, but these are the same ones who want to have no part in going to war when needed. If you want to kill, join the military".
Ice, along with Bogle, was a member of the once popular Black Roses crew, at one point led by Wille Haggart. All three died from violence.
MsKosmic also posted on YouTube: "Jah know RIP ICE. Another talented dancer dead ... Condolences to his family. Lawd dem kill off Roses crew one by one. Jamaica unite and stop the needless violence."
"Bwoy, RIP mi fren ICE. U will truly be missed. Black Roses will always be alive. u may not be here, but your legacy shall live on. Big up to you, mi uncle Bogle & Willie Haggard," Kedabashment28 said.
No motive
According to the St Andrew Central police, Smith was shot dead about 7:55 a.m., moments after he exited a bar where he had gone to purchase cigarettes.
Further reports are that the vehicle in which he was travelling, a Mitsubishi Lancer, was also stolen.
The police say no motive has been established for the murder. However, DSP McArthur Sutherland noted that the police would be speaking with witnesses.
The Half-Way Tree CIB confirmed yesterday that it found the vehicle in which the dancer was travelling scrapped in the Waltham Park area on Saturday. They would offer no further details on the case.
Ice, a long-time member of the Black Roses crew, created the popular Gully Creepa dance. The dance brought attention to the dancer, especially after Jamaican speedster Usain Bolt performed the move after winning the 100-metre event at the August 2008 Olympics in China.
