Determined, intelligent, phenomenal and artistic are just a few words that can best describes me, Alethia Turnbull. Hailing from Nature’s Little Secret, The British Virgin Islands, I was born on the beautiful island of St. Thomas US Virgin Islands on November 20, 1990. In my leisure time, I enjoy singing with my church choir, reading the latest novels, traveling to other continents and islands and entertaining family and friends.

In my early childhood days, I attended the Althea Scatliffe Primary School and moved on to my Secondary education at the British Virgin Islands High School, now known as the Elmore Stoutt High School. In 2006, I graduated with a Grade 1 certificate being successful with my high school education. To continue my educational journey, I am currently a proud senior student of the H. Lavity Stoutt Community College majoring in General studies (English concentration). Upon my graduation, I will further this journey to pursue my goals of become a Criminal Attorney.

As Miss Teen British Virgin Islands 2008, I have selected the platform of Crime. Sadly this epidemic of "Crime" has taken over my country and our future generation, MY GENERATION. With my platform, I would enlighten citizens and residents of the British Virgin Islands that it is time we stop being terrified and realize how powerful we are. It is time we stop blaming each another and work together for one common goal; to diminish the crime rate before it demolishes our territory. I will help stop the influx of criminal behavior within the youths of our community by becoming a positive teen role model and creating outreach centers for those in need of help. I would encourage and motivate my peers not to fall prey to peer pressure and condole criminal behaviors, but to continue educating ourselves for a brighter and more thriving future. So I leave you with this quote by Marianne Williamson. "Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? As we are liberated from our own fears, our presence automatically liberates others."
