Miss Universe Dominican Republic 2013, Yaritza Reyes Makes Miss Universe 2013 Top 10

The 62nd Annual MISS UNIVERSE Competition broadcasted on Saturday November 9^th  on NBC with over a billion viewers. 

Miss Universe Venezuela, Gabriela Isler was crowned Miss Universe 2013 from Crocus City Hall in Moscow, Russia.

Contestants representing 86 countries competed in three categories: swimsuit, evening gown and interview. Twelve Caribbean beauties vied for the coveted title but only two managed to make it to the top 16; Miss Universe Dominican Republic 2013, Yaritza Reyes and Miss Universe Puerto Rico, Monic Perez. Yaritza Reyes, however was the only one to make it to the top 10.

Final Results:
First Runner-Up: Miss Universe Spain, Patricia Yurena Rodriguez
Second Runner-Up: Miss Universe Ecuador, Constanza Baez.

Top Five: Miss Universe Brazil, Jakelyne Oliveira; and Miss Universe Philippines, Ariella Arida.

Other Top Ten: Miss Universe Great Britain, Amy Willerton; Miss Universe India, Manasi Moghe; Miss Universe USA, Erin Brady; Miss Universe Ukraine, Olga Storozhenko; and Miss Universe Dominican Republic, Yaritza Reyes.

Other Top Sixteen:
Miss Universe Costa Rica, Fabiana Granados; Miss Universe China, Jin Ye; Miss Universe Indonesia, Whulandary; Miss Universe Puerto Rico, Monic Perez; Miss Universe Nicaragua, Nastassja Bolivar; and Miss Universe Switzerland, Dominique Rinderknecht.

Miss Photogenic Universe Award: Miss Universe Poland, Paulina Krupinska. She was awarded a $1,000 cash prize and a gift from pageant sponsor Diamond Nexus.

Miss Congeniality Universe Award: Miss Universe China, Jin Ye. She was awarded a $1,000 cash prize and a gift from Diamond Nexus.

 

Thomas Roberts, anchor of (“MSNBC Live”) and Melanie Brown, aka Mel B (“America’s Got Talent Judge) co-hosted the pageant. While, Jeannie Mai, recognized for her fashion segments on NBC’s “Today,” served as commentator.

Also in the in the Best Costume Competition which was held earlier,  Catherine Miller, Miss Universe Trinidad & Tobago 2013 came in second with her  National Costume.  Miss Nicaragua, Nastassja Bolivar won with her National Costume.

Miss Universe Swimwear & Evening Gown Preliminary Competition - Caribbean Contestants

The Preliminary Competition of the Miss Universe was on November 5, at 8 pm, Moscow time at Crocus City Hall. The event was hosted by reigning Miss Universe Olivia Culpo.

 

 

Contestants competed in swimsuit by 2014 YAMAMAY swimwear collection featuring footwear by Chinese Laundry and Evening Gowns.
 

The coronation of Miss Universe 2013 will take place on Saturday November 9th at the same venue at 9 PM ET on NBC

Over the weekend the National Costume Show for the Miss Universe 2013 was held showcasing each contestant's home country through an authentic costume.

The 12 entrants from the Caribbean took to the catwalk in a selection of stunning national costumes.

Miss Universe- Official Lingerie Photo Shoot - Caribbean Contestants

The Miss Universe Organisation has released the official photos of a swimwear shoot of Miss Universe 2013 contestants.

The contestants took part in the photo shoot for Italian lingerie brand, Yamamay, at the Crowne Plaza Moscow World Trade Centre hotel on 22 October.

New York-based Fashion Photographer Fadil Berisha took the shots of all 86 contestants in bikini.

The 62nd Miss Universe pageant is being held at Crocus City Hall in Moscow, Russia, on November 9^th. Contestants will be competing in three categories: swimsuit, evening gown and interview, as they vie for the title.  The will be crown by the reigning Miss Universe,Olivia Culpo.
