The list for the richest celebrities’ is based on upfront pay, profit participation, residuals, endorsements and advertising work.

Damian Marley to Launch Jamrock Reggae Cruise With Norwegian Pearl

Grammy Award-winning Jamaican recording artist Damian “Junior Gong” Marley and Norwegian Cruise Line will reportedly launch the inaugural Welcometo Jamrock Reggae Cruise in October next year.

Reports indicate that the Norwegian Pearl will set sail from Miami on a five-night musical voyage (from October 20-25, 2014) to Montego Bay and is also scheduled to drop anchor in Ocho Rios.

The trailblazing cruise is predicted to rock the boat with performances by leading Jamaican reggae and dancehall acts and deejays.

“Junior Gong”, youngest son of the legendary Bob “Tough Gong” Marley, is also slated to deliver the performance goods aboard the Pearl along with other top international recording stars.

In between the live concerts, a variety of sound systems and DJs will reportedly keep the musical action jamming as part of a total Jamaican package from food and beverages to films.

Sean Paul and Damian 'Junior Gong' Marley to Collaborate on New Album

Grammy winner Sean Paul will be collaborating with Damian 'Junior Gong' Marley on his new album which is due at the end of the summer.


In an interview Sean Paul revealed details about the duo collaboration.
 

"I've got a new album on the way. It should be out at the end of the summer. I'm doing a couple of songs from it on my current tour.”


"I've also done collaboration with one of Jamaica's most talented guys at the moment Junior Gong - Bob Marley's son. He's been a friend of mine since prep school so this song has been a long time coming."


Paul's sixth studio LP will be led by his new single 'Other Side of Love', which is out on August 12.

"It's a song about the other side of love - sometimes it's sweet but sometimes you have to work hard on it," he said of the track.

"It's about expelling doubt out of a relationship. It's a really poppy, dancehall-influenced track. I also have a song coming out called 'Entertainment' featuring Juicy J and 2 Chainz - two of the best rappers in the game at the moment."

Sean Paul is currently on a European tour.

Caribbean Entertainers Nominated for UK MOBO Awards

The nominees for 17th annual MOBO Awards were recently announced and a host of Caribbean nominees made the short list. Founded in 1996, MOBO was established by Kanya King MBE to recognise the outstanding achievements of artists who perform music in genres ranging from gospel, Jazz, R & B, Soul, Reggae to Hip Hop.

Bajan popstar Rihanna and Trinidadian Rapper Nicki Minaj were both nominated in the same category for “Best International Act” , other members in that category includes; Azealia Banks, Beyoncé, Drake, Jay Z and Kanye West, Frank Ocean, Nas,Ne-Yo and Rick Ross. This category was won by Rihanna last year and is deemed at the favourite to win again.

For the “Best Reggae Act” the list includes:

Sean Paul
Konshens
Damian Marley
Mr. Vegas


In the Best Reggae Act” Gyptian was the last Caribbean winner to capped that award back in 2010. Last year's winner went to Alborosie, an Italian reggae artist. Sean Paul who is the favourite to win , won in 2002,2004, 2006 and 2009

This year's Music of Black Origin (Mobo) Awards will be held at Liverpool's Echo Arena on Saturday November 3rd.
