21st Hapilos Executive Nabbed By Feds at JFK for Decade Old Murder

evin Reynolds a reggae music executive with 21st Hapilos Digital Distribution was arrested by federal marshals at JFK Airport late Sunday night after eluding law enforcement for more than a decade. He was waiting to board a flight to Kingston, where   one of the offices is located.

Reynolds was wanted for the shooting death of Winston King in Silver Spring, Maryland that occurred in in November 2002.

Reports are that along with another man, Reynolds approached King and his 11-year-old daughter in the parking lot outside their Maryland apartment complex. Reynolds allegedly dragged King away while his accomplice puts his hand over his daughter’s mouth. She later heard gunshots and saw the men speed off, according to sources.

The daughter saw her father stagger and eventually collapses, but told cops she recognized Reynolds before he sped away, sources said.

According to the NYPost Reynolds allegedly changed his identity to become “Dennis Graham” and resided in Canarsie, Brooklyn, where he runs the music company.

Reynolds is expected to be extradited to Maryland to face murder charges.

Asafa Powell Banned For 18 Months Over Doping Charge

amaican sprinter Asafa Powell was suspended for 18 months for the use of the banned substance Oxilofrine, when he was tested positive at the Jamaica National trials in June 2013.  He blamed the positive test on a new brand of nutritional supplements given to him by Canadian Chris Xuereb, his physical trainer at the time. 

Powell, who was absent for his ruling, was found negligent by the panel consisting of by Lennox Gayle, the chairman of   Jamaica Anti-Doping Disciplinary, physician Dr Jephthah Ford and former FIFA referee Peter Prendergast. 

"In all the circumstances, Mr. Powell was found to be negligent, and he was at fault," said commission chairman Lennox Gayle, adding the panel would issue a written statement explaining its decision in about a month.

He will be eligible to resume competition in December 2014, since the ban officially started from June 21, 2013.

Powell issued a statement through his publicist saying his defense team will appeal to the Court of Arbitration for Sport. He described the ruling as "not only unfair, it is patently unjust."

 

"I have never knowingly taken any banned substances, I did all the necessary checks before taking Epiphany D1 and it is my hope that the CAS will prove to be a more open and fair avenue for the review of all the facts in my case," Powell said.

Vybz Kartel Sentenced To Life In Prison For The Murder Of Clive "Lizard" Williams

ybz Kartel was today sentenced to life in prison with the possibility of parole after serving 35 years, for the 2011 murder of Clive "Lizard" Williams. Following his conviction last month, Kartel received the harshest sentence of any of his co-defendants: Shawn 'Shawn Storm' Campbell and  Kahira Jones each will serve 25 years before parole, while Andre St John to serve 30 years behind bars before he's eligible for parole.

Thirty-eight-year-old Vybz Kartel (real name Adidja Palmer) was found guilty of killing Williams at his house in Havendale on August 16 2011.

In passing down the sentences, Justice Lennox Campbell outlined that he took into consideration the fact that the murder of Clive 'Lizard' Williams on August 16, 2011 was planned and premeditated; that Williams' body had been concealed; the mental stress Williams had been put through before his murder; and the attempt to destroy evidence.

According to reports Williams was killed after being accused of stealing two guns from Kartel and other members of his crew. His body was never found. Cops, however, found a text message that Kartel allegedly wrote: "Tween me an u a chop we chop up the bwoy Lizard fine fine. Yeah man a mince meat dat … As long as u live dem can never find him."

Defense lawyer Tom Tavares-Finson said that Vybz Kartel plans to appeal his conviction for murder.

In August, Kartel will face further charges related to the Williams murder case. He is accused of attempting to pervert the course of justice.

Teflon Not Arrested, Artiste Denies Claim

ollowing an incident over the weekend where a motor vehicle occupied by members of Reggae singer Teflon’s promotional team was stopped by Police personnel, rumours have begun surfacing that the entertainer has been arrested.

According to the tittle-tattle which originated via a Blackberry message, on Sunday afternoon Teflon and three men were stopped, searched and arrested by the lawmen on the Hellshire Main Road. However a representative from ‘Yard A Love’ the artiste’s Management Company vehemently denied the rumours dismissing them as false and malicious.

“I am not sure where this rumour started or who is the perpetrator, but Teflon was NEVER stopped nor arrested by the authorities at any point over the weekend. Why are people so wicked and vicious spreading false propaganda, what do they intend to gain from this. 

According to Yard A Love, during the supposed time of the incident Teflon was at home with his family and nowhere near the vicinity of the aforementioned. However, they did admit receiving a phone call from a member of the camp about being stopped by the authorities but it was only part of a routine spot-check being conducted in the area on all motorist. Subsequent to the inspection NO ONE was detained or arrested.

When asked about the alleged incident a seemingly surprise Teflon added, “this is news to I and I, the ones them that doing these things need to try and find more productive and uplifting ways to occupy themselves. Look how much land out there. Why them nuh try some farming or do something that can contribute positively to the nation, this is what happens when society have too much idle hands and idle minds.”

Ironically it was only weeks earlier that Teflon performed for hundreds of recruits at the Twickenham Park Police Academy in St. Catherine where he delivered a fiery set as the special guest artiste at the gathering.

Meanwhile, after inking an international distribution deal with U.S based company New Millionaire Entertainment (NME) out of Delaware, Teflon is now gearing up to release a video for I’m Sure. The aesthetically pleasing visuals were shot by IceyJace Film Factory. The Rastafarian singer is also working on a number of tracks for his upcoming album titled Next Dimension slated for release later this year. Other releases will include In The Middle and Mama Kept Me Warm produced by Social yaad Records and Deadline Recordz respectively.

Teflon’s deal with New Millionaire Entertainment will see them becoming the exclusive agent handling both digital and physical distribution along with his marketing throughout the world for downloadable, mobile and video contents. The dissemination will be done in conjunction with Universal Records.

Vybz Kartel Found Guilty In the Murder Trial of Clive ‘Lizard’ Williams

YBZ Kartel along with three of co-defendants; Shawn Campbell, Kahira Jones and Andre St John have been found guilty of the murder of Clive ‘Lizard’ Williams. Shane Williams another accused was found not guilty and was cleared of wrongdoing.

The eleven-member deliberated for 1 hour and 53 minutes before returning a 10-1 verdict. Kartel and his co-defendants will be sentenced on March 27and are facing life imprisonment.

Prosecutors alleged Williams was beaten to death at Kartel’s home in Havendale, St Andrew in August 2011 after being lured there to answer for two missing illegal guns. His body has never been found. However, Police testified they retrieved a text message from Kartel’s phone saying Williams was chopped up in "mincemeat” so fine that his remains would never be found. Kartel, whose real name is Adidja Palmer, has been in jail since September 2011 in connection with the killing.

 

The 65-day trial was the longest running criminal hearing in the history of Jamaica’s circuit court system.
