S
inger Gyptian has teamed with Donsome Records LLC/Shadyhill Music for the single Dagger Through My Heart.  The song was produced by Adrian ‘Donsome’ Hanson and Peter ‘Shady’ Harrison.

In a release, Hanson explained that even though the song was recorded a few years ago, the track is now being mixed and mastered for release. It will be released on August 12.

‘Dagger Through My Heart was recorded years ago when Shady and I first began to produce songs with Gyptian. We have done about seven tracks with him’, said Hanson.

He added ‘Working with Gyptian has always been fun for us. We always bring out a side of Gyptian in our productions that no other producer has been able to’, Hanson noted.

Dagger Through My Heart tells the story about a man who is continuously hurt by his woman and he still loves her no matter the amount of hurt he continues to experience.

Donsome Records and Shadyhill Music have combined on several projects over the years. Both entities are working on the production of reggae artiste Rage’s upcoming EP.  Donsome Records will be releasing the long awaited compilation Ghetto Corner Stone Vol. 1

A number of new singles are to be released and they include songs from Khago, Rage and Beenie Man featuring Harry Toddler.

‘I’m also in the studio writing and producing songs for a number of artistes, so we have a lot of work to be released’, said Hanson.

T
he hardcore and explicit material previously recorded by dancehall deejay Pamputtae may be a thing of the past.  The artiste shows her diversity and maturity on her latest single Nuh Problem which was produced by Donsome Records.

In a media release, Pamputtae explained that the new direction was needed to showcase her musical diversity.

‘Yes it’s a new direction for me as an artiste. Nuh Problem is a song which highlights what you can do with ease. Some girls believe that because you are fat you are not flexible, but I can do anything because mi nuh have nuh problem’, said Pamputtae.

Born in Fletchers Land, Kingston, Pamputtae began her musical journey when she did an intro for dancehall selector Tony Matterhorn. Since then there has been no looking back.

The 28 year old whose real name is Eveana Henry, is known for her numerous slangs, confidence and imitable style.

‘The musical journey for me has been rough and tough sometimes but I understand that it’s a man’s world and you have to pay to live in it’, she shared.

Nuh Problem will be released digitally on April 15. It was written and produced by Adrian ‘Donsome’ Hanson.

Pamputtae is known for hits such as It Good, Ride It, Talk Di Tings and Slim Gal vs. Fluffy Gal featuring Spice.

Entertainer RAGE Set to Release New Single “False Pretense” Today

Writer : Caribbean E-Magazine on Tuesday, January 14, 2014 | 11:11 AM

Tuesday, January 14, 2014

Newcomer Rage is set to release his latest single False Pretense on January 14.  Rage whose real name is Rickardo Dinham is based in New York. He is originally from the Kintyre area of Papine in St. Andrew.

False Pretense is produced by Adrian ‘Donsome’ Hanson for Donsome Records. This isn’t the first time that Rage has worked with the New York based Donsome Records. He was featured on the fledging label’s Reggae Grass Roots Vol. 1, Reggae in My Heart and Reggae Fruits and Roots Vol. 1 compilations.

In a release to the media, Rage spoke about the new single and his emerging career.

‘False Pretense was inspired by real events in my life. It’s about my experience with a special someone and others under comparison. Real ladies are still out there’, Rage explained.

The deejay says he is bringing a dynamic sound and variety of concepts to the musical arena.

‘I want people to stop and say ‘that’s true’ when they listen to one of my songs’, he noted.

A former contestant in the Magnum Kings and Queens of Dancehall competition in 2012, Rage met producers Cordell ‘Skatta’ Burrell and Peter ‘Shadyville’ Harrison who have helped to mould him into the artiste that he has become.

My musical journey was and still is an upward trend, but thanks to Peter Harrison for my growth, it was a transformation from dancehall to reggae mostly. It has led me to realize that reggae music is my comfort zone’, said Rage.

Rage has released songs including No More Free Nights (Downsound Records); Holding Down featuring Lukie D (featured on Donsome Records’ Reggae Grass Roots Vol. 1); Can’t Say Goodbye (featured on Reggae in My Heart Vol. 1); and Higglers Anthem (featured on Reggae Fruits and Roots Vol. 1).

Jay Khule Collaborates With Dancehall Artiste Shane O on Single "Rising"

Writer : Caribbean E-Magazine on Tuesday, October 8, 2013 | 11:58 AM

Tuesday, October 8, 2013

Singjay Jay Khule makes quite an impression with his latest single Rising which features dancehall artiste Shane O. The track which Jay Khule produced himself is an autobiographical tale outlining the struggles and his will to make it in life.

The 27 year old entertainer was born Jerome Reid in St Mary, Jamaica but at the age of eleven he relocated to Anguilla with his mother shortly after the death of his father.

Music has been his outlet to share the experiences that he has been through.

‘When I lost my dad, my struggles through life began. During my early childhood years I travelled on foot many miles to school. After moving to Anguilla I spent my teenage years working in the field learning various trades including wood work, landscaping, fishing, construction and dealing with livestock. Music has always been my first love and it has inspired me in many ways’, Jay Khule said in a release to the media.

Jay Khule is a born again Christian. He participates in several community projects and gives of his time in various organizations.

‘When I was twenty I discovered not only my love for music but that I had a hidden talent in singing. Soon after I began composing and recording my own tracks in reggae and rhythm and blues. The art of music has now become my life and passion and my goal is to spread a positive message to the world through song’, said Jay Khule.

Relocating to Anguilla, Jay Khule realized it wasn’t easy trying to adjust to the cultural difference.

‘It was difficult at first but as time went by, I got adjusted to the lifestyle in Anguilla’, he explained.

Jay Khule, who is presently in Jamaica working on musical projects, said the collaboration with Shane O came about through connections he made.  He said the response to the collaboration has been positive to date.

Having made his recording debut in 2009 with the self-produced Home Affairs, he pointed out that the musical journey has been very inspiring for him.

He said producing positive music to impact the lives of the youths and to motive them is of significance to him.

He also noted that Home Affairs and Unruly were among his more familiar work. To date he has worked with producers including Richie Loop and Chris Gold.

Jay Khule is currently in the studios working with producer Adrian ‘Donsome’ Hanson. He has a number of projects to be released over the next couple of months.
